SOLAR MOON “Mwezi”

The title of this, the first single taken off the next (and fourth) Solar Moon longplayer “Redbook”, couldn’t be any more fitting: “Mwezi” is Swahili for “Moon”.

And while the “Redbook” album, just like its three predecessors, is mainly & carefully curated from undusted & refurbished top studio shelve material amassed during now 27 years of band history, “Mwezi” is a brand new song, composed & produced between the band members only this spring.

With the basic loops provided by George Solar from the white island of Ibiza and the dreamy yet super catchy vocals (plus basic drums & bass) recorded in Uganda by Razoof, it took just one final session at Tom Dams’ Studio Forstmehren  (located deep within the german countryside) to finalize this little big ode to the pale planet in all its glory. With sweet melody carrying a message both clear & simple:

“The Sun rises, I feel great
the moon comes up I feel happiness
because all happiness connects at night let me tell you.”

Embedded in the signature Solar Moon production sound - always highlighting a big calm, ample of precious time & lots of wide open space as per usual - these words become like either a mantra or a lullaby, depending on perspective of course. Solar Moon invites you to feel free to feel free, and you got the full six minutes in order to do so. In case it wouldn’t work the first time, just press repeat.

The successful series of 'Balearica' compilations that Chus & Ceballos release year after year under their Stereo Productions label is moving its location to their home in the Algarve in Portugal for the 2017 edition.
It will bear the name of the beautiful area where so much of their success was forged, and they want to pay tribute.
This year will see several Chus & Ceballos gigs such as the Iberican Republica events, which showcase the most representative artists of the label, and one of the best festivals in the world: the BPM.
'Algarve 2017' contains the same essence of the Mediterranean as 'Balearica,' and it consists of original tracks of wide musical scope and depth that have been created with the characteristic quality of this emblematic project. This edition contains 17 originals songs and five licenses from related labels.
This is, without a doubt, another compilation that will create a referent, and it will not be out of place in any playlist.

For our next release, we are super excited to showcase and welcome Caly Jandro to the Beat&Path family.

Caly, a young upcoming Melbourne based Producer/DJ and founder of the Boogie Beats Collective has brought us something special for his debut. A disco-esque cut, with organic drums and layered jungle sounds featuring a beautiful North African style vocal which really brings the track to life. Caly adds that “once the bulk of the track was done, my friend Steve (Highway Beauty) laid down some keys and made the track wholesome”.

On the flip side label members,  The Drunken Apaches (one half Out of Sorts & Cyril Orson our designer) take you on a hypnotic rendition. A subtle 303 riff under the mix, with haunting strings, clanking chords and pitched down vocal samples pull this edit together.

He was so into the track that he asked to do his own high-octane edit of it, and I was thrilled with the result. We toyed with the idea of keeping it as a top-secret weapon for personal use, but decided to share it with the world instead. BETON - Directions ft. Wevie Stonder (The Cirez D Edit)

Sag & Tre is proud to present the first volume of the "Freshly Picked" compilations featuring a range of hand-selected music to kick off the New Year, 2019.

Featuring scene stalwarts signed to labels/collectives such as All Day I Dream, Anjunadeep, Rebellion der Traumer, Dream Culture, Where The Heart Is + more, the compilation is set to turn heads, and stay in your record box for a while. The compilation also features a couple of newcomers, who compliment the entire piece offering something new, instead of deducting from the experience.

Elias Dore is the next announced artist for this compilation. Originally from Berlin, Elias explored many facets of music, but what has over time stayed with him is his love for melodic warmth and organic sounds. Elias has been trusted to provide warmup support for Rampue, Nico Stojan, Mira, Nicola Cruz, Holger Hecler and many more. While he regularly plays in Berlin’s well known clubs such as Sisyphos or Katerblau, he recently picked up some producing boots and made this beautifully unique composition called “Ayasa”.

This is one of the many Sag & Tre fruits off the compilation, all to be revealed before December 25th, when the compilation is up for pre-order. 

Artists like Powel, Jean Caillou and Ramiro Rossotti have already been announced to appear on the compilation. “Freshly Picked Vol. 1” will release on all digital stores and streaming services on Friday, January 4, 2019.

Richy Ahmed returns to his Four Thirty Two imprint in rude health, and with his first new productions since the autumnal months of 2019.  Fast asserting his credentials as one of the scene’s greatest exponents of uncomplicated and palpable house music, Richy delivers two new cuts, and enlists Enzo Siragusa to turn his hand to a remix.

A rough and ready production gives ‘Bad Boy’ its instant appeal, as Richy takes a heavy bass driven rhythm and sprinkles chopped up vox and trance inducing tones over the disco inspired groove.  FUSE London resident, Enzo Siragusa, is enlisted on the remix duties for ‘Bad Boy’, scattering shiny string motifs and contorted vocals over a headsy and drumy mix.

Perhaps the greatest of decades in music is invoked on ‘Italo 80’, as Richy simmers an Italo inspired cut, dazzling with thick arpeggiated synths and drum sounds almost as big as the shoulder pads and hair of the era!  A blistering acid line bubbles away as Richy explores a robotic rhythm and dizzying synth motifs.
