This is the kind of music people like now, I guess.

This one girl told me to keep making music. So I did.

This recording still needs a ton of work but here it is. (Well, in reality I'd written parts of this song before that, prob. about a year ago, but I really finished it. Reality isn't that romantic. Come on. ... I'm so tired. I think people like a story though.)

Anyway, I don't write songs "about" people, but I guess some people inspire me. Or maybe some people pull me out of depression? (Is there a difference?) Oh well.

My EC-1000 doing so much work in that outro. Pic related. I was working on that part and a little Mick Gordon came out, I guess. I didn't plan for the song to have such a heavy part when I was writing it. It just sort of happened when I was copy and pasting stuff and it worked. HAHA. I used to write pop rock stuff like this, a long, long time ago. This song is a lot better than what I was writing back then though (Come Back To Me In One Piece, Seems So Far Away, Shelter In The Weather, etc.).

I really fell in love with acoustic guitar but I just can't get a good recording of it right now.

Acoustic Astronaut is recognized by the New Mexico Music Awards, VH1’s Save the Music Foundation, Song of the Year, Sirius XM, and has been featured on numerous compilation albums. The Songwriter & Executive Producer of Acoustic Astronaut is Dave Alyassin. His achievements over a 30 year span are One Small Step for Music and one Giant Leap for Creative Freedom. Bands that have covered AA’s material include Texas’ own J Ryan, The West Coast original progressive rock band, Hands of Time, & New Mexico’s own songwriter Troy Garrity.

Acoustic Astronaut’s biggest hit single before the 2023 release of Destruction Mill, was Mystical Ages released under the Racecar moniker. The self-titled album released in 2004, was distributed and played around the world with Mystical showing up on numerous compilations including the Guess Who’s Canadian label. The album was recorded by David Cragin in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cragin produced all of the songs and added all of the cool instrumentation that make the album the great listening experience that it is. 20 years later the re-mastered song and accompanying new video is splashing down around the world again catching the ears of a new generation.

The 2nd racecar album, Dance Like a Ghost, was awarded Best Rock CD in New Mexico and was produced in Albuquerque, New Mexico by Academy Award nominee, Jeffery Mettling at Trinity Recording Studios. Both Racecar albums were mastered in Santa Fe, New Mexico by Andrew Click at Stepbridge Studio. Guest appearances include Simon Widdowson, Jon Trujillo, Anya Alyassin, Gamze Guckiran and Willy Magee. Also, David Cragin of Santa Fe Soundworks, Steven Howell of Jonasol Studio & Julian Lopez of Crazy Productions Studio.

Judges awarding the album Dance Like A Ghost included Rick Derringer, who has played with The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, John Lennon, Alice Cooper, Steely Dan, Kiss, Todd Rundgren and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Rick’s classic hit, "Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo" is a standard. Other judges included Elvin Bishop and Randy Brecker. Randy has seven Grammy nominations under his belt and a double Grammy for the album "Out of the Loop''. He has played with Stanley Clarke, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Larry Coryell, David Sanborn and Frank Zappa.

I self-produce. I do all my own recording, mixing and mastering. Please do not do this. Learning how to do it is such a waste of time, especially if you use real instruments sometimes like I do. Just have your parents start you a record label instead, like Taylor Swift. Just kidding, I love Taylor. Sorry, I'm not good at this.

I think my favorite song is either 空とキミのメッセージ by ChouCho, or Sweet Misery by Michelle Branch.

I write about serious topics. Sometimes I write in an unserious manner, but I put a lot of thought into my words. I worry about modern music that's written with a "safe" aesthetic but actually expresses unsavory ideas, and I try to do the opposite. I try to write stuff that's quirky and maybe a little off-kilter, but wholesome in a way. To me, the worst kind of art is art that's both boring and harmful.

I don't thing art must strive to be universal though. My words are generally contemplation. I just have ideas and write them down, but I try not to write down bad ideas.
