New Composition: This morning I released this new track based on Guru Nanak’s Japji Sahib, Pauri 20. 

I have been working on the music for this composition since several years. The idea was to interject the verses with chanting on Satnam. The harmonies are not computer generated as is for many arrangements these days; I took my sweet time and took over 100 takes for the different vocals in this track and layered them for the harmonies.  So I want to especially thank my collaborators who had to wait a long long time before this was completed.  In 2018, my friend and his wife David Baynes and Ana Milena Varona contributed some tracks to help with this. David Baynes (who also did the arrangement of Jo Mange and played the guitar in Jin Prem Kiyo with me) played the guitar and bass for this track. Ana Milena Varona has played several cello tracks to make it sound like a string quartet. Enjoy!

ਭਰੀਐ ਹਥੁ ਪੈਰੁ ਤਨੁ ਦੇਹ ॥
भरीऐ हथु पैरु तनु देह ॥
Bẖarīai hath pair ṯan ḏeh.
When the hands and the feet and the body are dirty,
ਪਾਣੀ ਧੋਤੈ ਉਤਰਸੁ ਖੇਹ ॥
पाणी धोतै उतरसु खेह ॥
Pāṇī ḏẖoṯai uṯras kẖeh.
water can wash away the dirt.
ਮੂਤ ਪਲੀਤੀ ਕਪੜੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
मूत पलीती कपड़ु होइ ॥
Mūṯ palīṯī kapaṛ hoe.
When the clothes are soiled and stained by urine,
ਦੇ ਸਾਬੂਣੁ ਲਈਐ ਓਹੁ ਧੋਇ ॥
दे साबूणु लईऐ ओहु धोइ ॥
Ḏe sābūṇ la▫ī▫ai oh ḏẖo▫e.
soap can wash them clean.
ਭਰੀਐ ਮਤਿ ਪਾਪਾ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
भरीऐ मति पापा कै संगि ॥
Bẖarīai maṯ pāpā kai sang.
But when the intellect is stained and polluted by sin,
ਓਹੁ ਧੋਪੈ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥
ओहु धोपै नावै कै रंगि ॥
Oh ḏẖopai nāvai kai rang.
it can only be cleansed by the Love of the Name.
ਪੁੰਨੀ ਪਾਪੀ ਆਖਣੁ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
पुंनी पापी आखणु नाहि ॥
Punnī pāpī ākẖaṇ nāhi.
Virtue and vice do not come by mere words;
ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਣਾ ਲਿਖਿ ਲੈ ਜਾਹੁ ॥
करि करि करणा लिखि लै जाहु ॥
Kar kar karṇā likẖ lai jāhu.
actions repeated, over and over again, are engraved on the soul.
ਆਪੇ ਬੀਜਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਖਾਹੁ ॥
आपे बीजि आपे ही खाहु ॥
Āpe bīj āpe hī kẖāhu.
You shall harvest what you plant.
ਨਾਨਕ ਹੁਕਮੀ ਆਵਹੁ ਜਾਹੁ ॥੨੦॥

Words of Akaal – Daily Nitnem is a Full album of the Daily Paaths to be recited by a Sikh.
As Sikhs know Akaal Purakh (God Himself) gave these words to Guru Nanak Dev Ji and from there Guru Nanak Dev Ji undertook 10 Body Vessels in the form of the 10 Gurus to compile the Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Words Of Akaal the Album consists of the Daily Nitnem Banis which a Gursikh Recites as according to the Rehit Maryada (Code Of Conduct) for Sikhs.  We are releasing this album so people can become familiar with the Banis.  Tarli Digitals musical touches add beautiful mediational Natural sounds into the ambience for those who wish to meditate, listen and Do the Banis.  

It is recommended that one commits and try’s to recite these banis daily with discipline and pure love channelled towards the creator and his creations.

Words Of Akaal Daily Nitnem – We urge anybody who obtains a copy of these divine Shabads to treat these with utmost sanctity and respect.  The CD will be available shortly and this release will also have a free download online shortly.
It should be the objective of the person who obtains this release to be able to recite these Banis using a Gutka Sahib.  Try not to fall into a habit of just listening to these banis as they should be recited.  Also the same applies for the ardas tracks.  We hope these ardas’s will trigger Sikhs to be able to do there own ardas to Akaal Purakh Ji as it is fast becoming a ritual to offer a Gurdwara Granthi a donation and he carries out the ardas for you.  Ardas should be performed by one to Akaal Purakh there is not a need for a middle man unless one cannot perform the ardas themselves.

Those who become the humble servants of the Lord and Master, lovingly focus their minds on Him.

The bonds and shackles of Maya are shattered, by lovingly focusing their minds on the Name of the Lord.

ਹਮਰਾ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਓ ਗੁਰ ਮੋਹਨਿ ਹਮ ਬਿਸਮ ਭਈ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧॥
My mind is enticed by the Guru, the Enticer; beholding Him, I am wonder-struck. ||1||

ਸਗਲੀ ਰੈਣਿ ਸੋਈ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕਿੰਚਤ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜਾਗੇ ॥
I slept through the entire dark night of my life, but through the tiniest bit of the Guru's Grace, I have been awakened.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਸਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੨॥੧॥

My Father is absolutely all-powerful. God is the Doer, the Cause of causes.

ਜਿਸੁ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਦੁਖੁ ਕੋਈ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥
Remembering Him in meditation, pain does not touch me; thus I cross over the terrifying world-ocean.

ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਜੀਵਾ ॥
In the beginning, and throughout the ages, He is the Protector of His devotees. Praising Him continually, I live.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਹਾ ਰਸੁ ਮੀਠਾ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਪੀਵਾ ॥੧॥
O Nanak, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is the sweetest and most sublime essence. Night and day, I drink it in with my mind and body. ||1||

He is occupying my bedlike heart. He looked pleased and honoured me. I was lost in the love filled trance of Nam Amrit that merged me into a state of equipoise.

ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਸਬਦ ਸੁਨਿ ਅਖੀਆ ਉਘਰਿ ਗਈ ਭਈ ਜਲ ਮੀਨ ਗਤਿ ਬਿਰਹ ਜਗਾਏ ਹੈ ॥੨੦੫॥
Listening to the voice of rain-bird,I was woken up from the bliss of the divine dream, I was restless like a fish out of water The awe and marvel of love-filled state disappeared, reawakening the pangs of separation. (205).

सतगुर पूरा भेटेया, जिन बणत बणाई 
I have met the Perfect True Guru who has done this deed. 

राम नाम औखद दिया, एका लिव लाई
He has blessed me with the medicine of the Lord’s name as a remedy and I’m in tune with Him now 

राख लिए तिन रखणहार, सब ब्याद मिटाई
The protector- Lord has saved me and eradicated all my sickness. 

कहो नानक कृपा भई, प्रभ भए सहाई

I sang this shabad spontaneously a couple of years ago inspired by someone who sent me the words ... just went into the studio and sang it.  This melody is not my composition, it is one of my favorite compositions of Bhai Harjinder Singh ji Srinagar wale.  

Recently I added some piano and strings to that arrangement. Perhaps this needs more work, perhaps not. I"ll let the Guru decide.
