The Beginning

This turned out way better than I expected.

The Lightning Ride

It's been a while now since I started this journey, so I decided to check my progress by comparing the best tracks of each year since day one.

I still remember how, starting from absolute zero with no musical knowledge, I tried to write stuff that made sense just to find myself failing hard at it countless times. 
I loved the craft though, so I always went back and tried to experiment my way into it from a new perspective, a new genre, or whatever seemed interesting at the moment. 
Fast forward to this day, and after three years of writing music almost everyday, I feel that the things I write are finally starting to make sense.

However, I can't shake this feeling that there's something that I'm losing the more expert I become at this: that sense of being a naive student of the craft who can't distinguish what is possible from what's not is big part of what led me to be a fearless explorer and make some awesome artistic discoveries in the first years. 

I guess I'll be taking some time now to delve into the realm of clueless experimentation once again for the sake of artistic fulfillment and novelty, at the risk of not making much sense to who's listening.

This single is based on a recording I made on my own in 2010, that I have on my Youtube https://youtu.be/6YGy0YMf5AE. I've now ten years later made a better version of it: I've lowered my heavy breaths, raised the volume of the whole song, & added a little reverb & compressor. 

ABOUT VARGSÅNGEN
Vargsången was written for the film "Ronja Rövardotter" a Swedish film that was made in 1984 that was directed by Tage Danielsson. The film is based on the book Ronja Rövardotter (Ronia, the Robber's Daughter), a children's fantasy book by the Swedish author Astrid Lindgren, first published in 1981.

Ronia is a girl growing up among a clan of robbers living in a castle in the woodlands of early-Medieval Scandinavia. I personally love the movie Ronja Rövardotter. If you haven't seen it, I really recommend that you do! :)
