Why let the world in, keep them guessing, once they know what you're up to
They'll try to crawl in til their wishes and their judgments corrupt you
Just keep your eye upon the gleaming of that green and distant light
Don't let the adults speak against it, in the end you'll know what's right

And if you're following your dream though it's a wild and lonely track 
Why then the road will rise to meet you and the wind’ll have your back
And all impediments and perjuries will slowly fall away
Until you're riding through your kingdom in the golden light of day

There's nothing certain anymore, there never was I'm pretty sure
Except our choices and the voices of the ones who came before
And every doubter that you meet who says your vision can't be real
You've got to fight their gravitation with your native force of will

And if you do you will have made a life that very few can claim
And you'll live on inside a pantheon that's brighter still than fame
But if the lights and the accoutrements turn out to be your lot
