mochilero is first and foremost a passionate and dedicated dancer, who with each set, aims to share melodies & rhythms for liberatory movement & collective joy. Inspired by the mystery, interconnectedness, and diversity of the natural world, mochilero weaves together melodic, uplifting and soulful grooves to evoke a feeling of oneness on the dance floor. He plays tasteful melodic, deep, progressive, minimal, and downtempo house with rays of breaks, acid, tech, & disco to create emotive, hypnotic, and dynamic sonic journeys.

mochilero hosts inclusive parties, ecstatic dances, and community events on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of the Sinixt (Nelson, BC). The events foster an experience of collective joy, while focusing on centring marginalized communities and uplifting organizations that work toward social and environmental justice. His events are intended for dance lovers of any and every background, and are inspired by Fusion, Burning Man, Boom, and the open air culture in Köln, Germany, that led him to fall deep in love with the rich tradition of house music. The Patchouli Brothers are best friends bound together by oddities. They share an affinity for the esoteric side of disco, house, and all other forms of soulful dance music. They hold down a residency at Beam Me Up, a disco night in Toronto & Montreal, and have had releases on some of their favourite labels like Defected, Nervous, Razor-n-Tape, Soundway, GAMM, Soul Clap, Star Creature, Pleasure of Love & Basic Fingers.

Activiste de la première heure  et   passionné de musique, Fred aka Back From the Wave dévore les prémices  de différents courants majeurs de musiques électroniques ; l’acid house , la techno de  Détroit , la house music , la french touch mais aussi la new wave et suit des groupes comme Dépêche  mode ou New Order . 

 A la fin des années 90, il achète des synthétiseurs et commence à composer. Au fil des années plusieurs projets artistiques et musicaux  à multiples facettes réalisés sous différents pseudos donneront lieu à des signatures sur des labels Francais et Internationaux reconnus ( scandium Records  Label  d'André Dalcan et Paul Nazca , Goodlife label d'Oxia et The Hacker , Rotation label de Dave Angel ) 

Depuis 2019 ,  Back from the wave a produit de nombreux Ep et des remix pour  d’autres artistes allant de l'électro à l’ebm , de la New Beat à l’Indie dance .

Sa musique attire rapidement les faveurs de labels étrangers tels que   Bordello A Parigi , Melodize , Roam Records , Factor city , Ombra International mais aussi Français comme  Ritmo Fatale, Mélopée records et plus récemment Space Factory le label du   talentueux David Carretta , légende et précurseur du courant élécroclash en france avec the Hacker et Kittin .

Ses morceaux sont joués et appréciés par Dj Hell , Jennifer Cardini , The  Hacker , Endrik Schroder , Captain Mustache , Alessandro Adriani etc mais aussi par la jeune  génération comme Kendal , Bélaria , Mélanie Havens ou la New Yorkaise Andi .  

Parallèlement à son travail de producteur , Back from the wave  joue régulièrement sur de très belles   scènes telles que le  cabaret Sauvage à Paris , le Terminal à Lyon , le Bikini , le Rockstore ou le Rachdingue en  Espagne ……  

Ses sets énergiques sont à l'image de ses productions dédiés au dancefloor et combinant  electro , ebm , indie et Italo disco .  Sa persévérance et ses recherches appréciées  font de lui un artiste à suivre avec précaution .
