Italian producer Dino Lenny is the Fine Human Records label head who has been making music since the 90s. He's remixed huge names like Missy Elliott and Timbaland and has been collaborating with everyone from Madonna to Wu Tang Clan to Seth Troxler & Dixon. He has been named "A wizard of electronic music" by the Chemical Brothers, played live with Underworld, released music on the likes of Innervisions, Diynamic & Correspondant, and is currently signed to Ellum. 

For his debut release on Roam Recordings Lenny delivers a stunning EP titled 'Tokyo'. The original mix showcases Lenny's original vocals woven into a dance balad that could easily fit into a classic set of 80s electronica. The Black Mami remix strips down the original vocal with a hypnotic rendition beating with pulsating arpeggios. Long time Roam alumni Damon Jee returns to deliver a huge remix that elegantly bangs out the original melodies and stylish electronics of the original.

Long-time collaborators Lazare Hoche and S.A.M. have linked up on new project ‘Perfect Pushup 01’, the first release on the duo’s newly founded Perfect Pushup label, out Friday 6th March.

A two-track, vinyl-only release, ‘Perfect Pushup 01’ kicks off with the warm, sensual vibes of ‘The AR’, a feelgood house cut that takes the listener on a blissed-out 12-minute journey. On the flip-side, ‘The GB’ is a chugging, hypnotic slice of disco-inflicted house that possesses a similarly floor-filling vibe. The launch of the new project, S.A.M.’s first release since the lauded ‘Fury’s Laughter’, will also be marked with a run of bespoke t-shirts in collaboration with Everpress, available here.

"Perfect Pushup is the new project from myself and S.A.M., we wanted to create a fresh brand to showcase our love for feelgood and soulful house sounds, and we couldn't be happier with this EP to announce the label," Lazare expands.

Lazare and S.A.M. make up two thirds of Mandar, a house trio who are prolific despite all living in different cities. Not only a well-respected DJ and producer, but also the mastermind behind some of the most acclaimed recent underground records, Lazare’s journey has taken the Frenchman via several acclaimed underground vinyl imprints, including Concrete Music and his very own Access Records and Oscillat Music. Previously performing at the likes of Ushuaïa, Boiler Room, Fabric and Output NYC, Lazare has proven to be a mesmerising performer and certified fan favourite.

Drawing on that irresistible French house sound, ‘Perfect Pushup 01’ marks a new chapter in the story of two prolific house heads.

The next round of singles on Moscoman's Disco Halal Single Club is about to drop. After an impressive piece by Croatian producer Time To Sleep, it's YAME to follow the steps, musically as well as verbally, because after Lungo Mare comes To The Sea. The artist duo YAME, consisting of Alexandr Seletsky and Victor Kiriyakidi, delivers a track that brims with musical finesse and  edginess as if their inspirations Yello and Kraftwerk shook hands and added a driving raw bass line.  To the Sea has it all an Indie vibe, a disco-ish tone and foremost a catchy synth-line, which is added   edited and unedited vocals that underline either one of the aforementioned features and continue the impressive selection of music the label releases.

Italian siblings, The Robinson, deliver a mesmerising triplet of tracks on the ‘Nightmares’ EP, having popped up recently on Futureboogie’s 2020 Summer Riot IX EP.  And the FBR HQ has been all of a quiver after one of the deep house scene’s most prominent and revered figures, Ron Trent, blessed the release with a fine remix in his own inimitable style.

With only a couple of releases on RYE Records behind them, The Robinson are clearly fully formed already, as evident on ‘Burnout’, a sprawling and luscious house joint that’s replete with melodic emotion and rhythmic power.

Having been responsible for so many classic jams over the years (‘Altered States’ recorded & released at the age of 16, nuff said!).  Through his productions on the mighty Prescription Records, Peacefrog, Future Vision and so many more, Ron Trent is the epitome of classy, deep vibes, and he stamps his sound onto a fantastic remix ‘Burnout’ with elegance and grace.

In fact, the other original cuts here, ‘Nightmares’ and ‘Matrix’ owe much to the sounds honed by the likes of Ron Trent and other Chicago and Detroit pioneers, as crunchy drum machines, emotive string synths, haunting vocals and sparse yet stirring basslines are all the ingredients needed for the timeless sound and energies contained within these cuts.

SHMIKESSS is a Cape Town based cinematographer, DJ, live performer and producer that has always been drawn to the immersive narrative of the audio visual experience. It shows in his music taste - guiding listeners through a profound journey of soundscapes. Inspired by a deeper psychological narrative of collective consciousness, he aims to create sounds (and imagery) that celebrate the magnificence of life in all its forms. SHMIKESSS' sound is a dynamic fusion of groovy, racey, bouncy beats and rolling bass lines, shifting effortlessly between ethereal moments and bursts of pure, high-energy euphoria. As well as his individual act, he also performs as one half of @thelostboysza duo.

In a short time, SHMIKESSS has seen rapid evolution and growth in his productions,  first releasing on legendary Berlin label - Katermukke and its sister label MUKKE, then with releases on South African labels Back To Funk and Imprint. He's since co-launched Tomorrow's Monday Records (@tmrwsmdy), fostering community among Cape Town's growing scene and bridging it with a global network. SHMIKESSS is patiently honing his sound, new productions and live sets while looking to align with the right labels. His distinct sound and contagious energy has quickly launched him as a DJ, artist and events co-ordinator around many festivals in South Africa, as well as abroad in Hawaii and Germany.
