Another really fun collab with the legendary @TexMex-Shaman!

I'll often sketch out music ideas and compose midi melodies on the ipad as a first step, but took a different approach and constructed this one entirely in Ableton Live which I have been transitioning more of my process to lately.

After building the foundation I sent it to Stephen and he added some suuuper creative guitar parts that really build the atmosphere and take it to a whole other level. Very happy how this came out, hope you'll enjoy it!

Another one done from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Bitzone, Stricknice, and I have been working on for almost 5 years now! You can definitely hear some of those 2020 themes in these songs. I feel like the world is starting to change and new themes will start emerging, so we had better finish up soon, lol. There are definitely two more songs from the set still to be released, and maybe a bonus track, and then we will be done…It has been a dream to work with these guys! I wonder what's next?

Hey…. Did this song go in so many directions until this final recording. It started as an electric slide song, then a mandolin song, and finally as an acoustic guitar/recorder song. You know I laugh every time I play recorder. Just imagine a rough and scrappy, wild old man creating such a thing. Hahahahaha. Anyway, there are a lot of crows here. When I was working on the slide version, I heard them cawing outside as they flew by. (I scrapped my impromptu birdcall crowing on this, no one needs to hear that, not even the crows.) Lyrically the song has 2 distinct moods with some vocal transitioning. And guess what folks: As a novice singer, I can finally vibrato my voice… some more shenanigans you’ll have to put up with. Back to the crows. In town, we have a huge flock (murder) of town crows. Hundreds. They sure love fast food, and hanging out by the high school where tasty, tossed tidbits can be had. They are organized too, as if in an air force, as they are mostly wary of us humans… Finally, happy holidays to all who celebrate, and happy times to everyone else. Hope you enjoy this one. Peace riding on the waves of emotions - Ft Special Cecilia

Visiting my Scottish friend Jack tonight and I reminded him of how much I loved his version of Auld lang Syne. I first heard him perform this at our local bookstore in 2020 where he and his wife, Wendy presented stories and songs together . But, this song was the one I took home in my heart, because I had never heard it sung so sweetly. I had only heard it in the bar room choir , which has its own brand of sentimental value. Ha! But, Jacks version caused me to reflect on the message of the song, which is one of friendship and renewal. I love the simple yet poignant message which we all need to be reminded of. WE all are such beautiful parts of one another's lives . I hope we can embrace this message together . Thank you for listening! Love to all ..

This song began all the way back when Manuel was 16 and found love that summer with a girl named Carmen. He remembered her, though, and wrote this song about her all these years later. The title of the song means "Your name has the song," and the lyrics spell out the girl's charms using the letters of her name. Check out the lyrics and the translation below. 
  Using that inspiration, Manuel came up with the song structure and the vocal melodies to a rudimentary drum track with his electric guitar. He then asked Josh if the group would be interested in taking it on. Josh, never being one to refuse a challenging piece of music, and always on the lookout for interesting musicians with whom to collaborate, accepted his kind offer and created a project for the rest of the Eclectic Collecitve to join. He started the whole thing off by adding his bass, to which Ken added his innovative drums, to which Josh redid his bass, as is the typical process in the EC.
  Next up was JJ, who you'd think he'd grown up with Spanish music the way he added the horns, accordion, and piano. Then Stephen stepped in and added his psychedelic and intricate acoustic guitar to the stew. 
  It was all done, except for the mix at this point. Manuel did the honors, and did it very expertly. Stephen mastered it to give it more volume and dynamism, too, as he always does. 
  This was the first, but we hope not the last, time the EC has collaborated with Manuel, although we're all fans of the incredible music on his page. He was a true delight to work with, giving honest, encouraging feedback and helping us shape his song to meet his vision. We hope you enjoy listening to this song as much as we enjoyed creating it.
