that I submitted to the 2025 NPR Tiny Desk Contest.
This was a bit of an experiment. The audio was recorded using an iPhone 16 and then I used the Logic Pro stem spitter to separate the vocals and guitar so I could mix each track separately.
I still intend to have one more go at recording this using a better mic set up.

Let's take a look in here, inside my head
Spider webs and dust blowing everywhere
Oh, wait! Something there moved, an original thought?
Or rats scrounging for a crumb of food

Jets passing overhead, cut across the blue sky
Then scream away

Poets dream of being read to sounds of music
Clowns dance alone in the privacy of home

And then, what do you know, I remembered something important

As I've started doing lately, this is a short excerpt, focusing on just the closing section of a full piano tune I recorded around 2001. The approach kind of reminds of the ending of "Crime Of The Century" by Supertramp (obviously nowhere near as interesting). Apologies for the poor recording quality, and the piano sound wasn't the greatest back then. Still, this little 1-minute closing section is still one of my favourite things I've recorded.
