This latest Eclectic Collective song was probably the most collaborative in a true sense as we've yet released. The song began with Josh trying to piece together a couple of ideas that he'd come up with on the piano. He sent his ideas to JJ, who took out a connecter section that Josh had no intention of making anything of, and turned it into the body of the song. He returned the song to Josh complete with a signature JJ Terrell climactic coda. Then Josh added the bass to JJ's piano, with some help from the always solid drums from Ken. The way it usually goes is that Josh comes up with a scratch bass line to accompany the song, then Ken adds drums, then Josh goes back and adds the bass to fit the beat. Sometimes they go back and forth, but not this time so much. 
  Then, Stephen added the foundational guitar in the first section, and came up with the idea for the coda. Josh added some mandolin to the coda, too, after which Stephen redid the guitar in the coda to make it very dynamic and part the clouds. Tez finally came along and added the fiery solo and the charming fills in the main section. Most of this time, MD had been working on the narrative lyrics and refining his melodic vocals. Finally, Stephen put it all together for us and mixed it in his expert fashion. 
  We hope you enjoy the thrill of the climax, and also get a chuckle out of the lyrics, which are included below.

This song started with me trying to learn how to use the strumming guitar feature in Kontakt,  I have tried before but failed several times.  I found playing my guitar so much easier.  This time was different, there were people nearby and I had to be quiet.  The only option was using a virtual guitarist that I could listen to on my headphones.  I eventually figured out how to use it.  You will hear me change the strumming from verse to chorus and within the last two choruses. How do you think I did? I might use it again sometime.

This is my first upload to SoundCloud in over a year.  I became frustrated with SoundClouds marketing policies.  They deleted two of my accounts.  I do not know why.  That means all of the music on those accounts is now lost.  Lately I have been using YouTube to upload my music.

Words I never thought I would have to write.

The great eSyrup, Thom Palumbo has tragically left us.
I am heartbroken. He has been a frequent collaborator and loyal correspondent over the last ten years. When I play guitar, I think of him and whether he would like it. When I write, I imagine his reaction. And now he is gone. He achieved his lifelong ambition of returning to Maine to live over the last few weeks. I was so proud he had done it. I had hoped for more of his time, his music and his humour. An incredible man.

We never met, but we had an uncanny connection. This was done but not finished nearly six years ago, in December 2017. Life and stuff got in the way. Time was our only enemy and sadly a cruel one.

"All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" is a novelty Christmas song written in 1944 by Donald Yetter Gardner (1913-2004) while teaching music at public schools in Smithtown, New York. 

The song was originally recorded by Spike Jones & His City Slickers on December 6, 1947, with lead vocal by George Rock. That version reached the top of the pop charts in 1948, and again in 1949. The song has also been recorded by numerous other singers and performers, including Ray Stevens, George Strait, Danny Kaye with The Andrews Sisters, The Platters, Dread Zeppelin, The Kelly Family,  Nat King Cole (reportedly Gardner's favorite version), The Chipmunks, the Hampton String Quartet, The Three Stooges, and Count von Count of Sesame Street.
