Elektra - Complete Miracle
Is the first piece from a trilogy.
Elektra is a female character from Greek mythology, originating in antiquity and handed down by Sophocles and Homer.

The story:
After the victorious war against Troy, Agamemnon had returned to Mycenae and was killed there by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegisth. At this time, his daughter Electra had taken her younger brother Orest to a carer who was supposed to raise him to be his father's future avenger. Since then, Elektra has lived a life in which the only thing she longs for is the moment of revenge. When the rumour of Orest's death makes the rounds, she wants to commit the murder herself. She urges her sister Chrysothemis in vain to help her, when suddenly a stranger appears: it is Orest. Elektra sees herself at the goal of her dreams.

Nach dem siegreichen Krieg gegen Troja war Agamemnon nach Mykene zurückgekehrt und dort von seiner Frau Klytämnestra und ihrem Geliebten Aegisth getötet worden. Seine Tochter Elektra hatte zu dieser Zeit ihren jüngeren Bruder Orest bei einem Pfleger in Sicherheit gebracht, der ihn zum künftigen Rächer des Vaters aufziehen sollte. Seither fristet Elektra ein Leben, das einzig den Moment der Vergeltung herbeisehnt. Als das Gerücht vom Tod Orests die Runde macht, will sie selbst zur Mordtat schreiten. put this together one rare morning, waking with my girlfriend at my place. we had the morning off from our usual responsibilities. it felt so dreamy and inspiring that i had to write a song, and this is what resulted. thanks for listening.

"It's Hopeful Time Again" (v2, 2023)

A new version and arrangement of my earlier song, a.k.a. ”It’s Xmas Time Again”. I experimented with some different chords, inversions, voicings and chord progressions etc. and this is the result!

This was played by me using the Korg SGProX digital stage piano as a master keyboard. The main keyboard sound here is from the Yamaha Montage 8 (the great and ever so lovely Yamaha TX816 Electric piano performance which was converted from the original TX816 patch), layered with Gospel Musicians' Neo-Soul Keys Studio 2 (Dyno Rhodes) and Keyscape (Roland MKS-20). Other sounds that I have been privileged to use come mainly from the great UVI SonicPass instrument collection and the Arturia V Collection. The drums come from Native Instruments Abbey Road 80s Drummer. 

Recorded and mixed using Cubase Pro 13. Mixed with Cubase, with some very significant amount of help from iZotope Neutron 4. Mastered with iZotope Ozone 11.

This is a song that JJ created late one Saturday night on the piano, drums, bass, and guitar. He then presented it to the rest of the Eclectic Collective so we could do our thing with it. Josh replaced JJ's rough bass with his interpretation of the line as soon as Ken replaced the drums with his interpretation of the beat. Interestingly, Ravel's Bolero had a lot to do with the inspiration for the second part of the song. After the rhythm section was done, we turned it over to Stephen, who came up with some really subtle, yet much needed guitar lines. 

 We then turned it over to our relatively new collaborator, Mark, who came up with the lyrics and vocals. This is a lyrical and vocal songwriting debut for Mark, who was inspired by his very first listen to JJ's rough draft. Thus, this song is extra special for him.  

Mark's lyrics are about our Earthly relatives in the far distant future. At that point life on Earth will have just about reached its limits, and so mankind embarks on a journey through space to find another place to call home.

We all hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did creating it.
