Now I know that cantankerous old coot C J Hopkins used the very same words to describe the current rift in the western world but I can verify that I wrote the lyrics to this song a good month before he did, he just says it much better, and I will quote him here;

"Yes, there is a divide. A great divide. A chasm. A schism. A gulf. An abyss. A gaping, yawning, unbridgeable fissure. A Grand Canyon-sized fault in the foundation of society. A rupture in the very fabric of reality."

The Schizm

Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round the sonic hearth, for we're about to embark on a musical expedition that will tantalize your auditory senses and transport you to a realm where sound becomes a time machine. This is more than just a track; it's a sonic journey through the ages, a gastronomic feast for the ears.

Our melody is a guitar-based masterpiece, a siren's call that beckons you into the unknown. Picture not one, but two guitars, their parts doubling and intertwining like old lovers meeting after a long separation. It's a dance of strings that paints intricate patterns across your mind.

But here's where it gets truly mesmerizing – angular harmonic ideas that twist and turn like a serpent through the musical landscape. The harmonies defy convention, leading you down a labyrinthine path of sonic exploration. Your ears won't believe what they're hearing.

This composition is a testament to the Sierra Norte, a place where every tree tells a story, and every rock whispers the secrets of time. It's inspired by the walks in these woods, the people who call this place home, and the ancient souls who once walked this hallowed ground.

Well as the clocks go forward tonight, (or maybe back - I never can remember), meaning we gain (or is it lose?) an hour, (though obviously we don't really), so it will be darker (or lighter) in the morning (or is it evening?) I thought it would be timely, as it were, to take a moment, and draw from my deep intellectual insight into the matter to explain all there is to know about that tricky little bugger, time.

Why are the lifespans of your subjects so potentially diverse?

Is your mission merely measure, or are you yourself the cause
Of evolution and decay of matter's elementary doom?
Are you the seemly pressure on the future's pending pause
Ethereally benign or other natural force subsume?
Can you shift like rays in prisms, temporal rainbows to behold
Are you the cause of age or do you simply count it's lines
Is your rounded face imprisoned in a cell numbered twelvefold
Do you hear me cry your name, Old Father Time?

At terminal expansion of our present universe
For its destined re-contraction to begin
Will your hands slow to a halt then slip into reverse
Or count us down in forward time back to our origin?
Will the ultimate compaction trigger seasonal adjust
Predicate upon your base the final great rewind?
Then will you recommence or revert back to gently ticking dust?

"All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth" is a novelty Christmas song written in 1944 by Donald Yetter Gardner (1913-2004) while teaching music at public schools in Smithtown, New York. 

The song was originally recorded by Spike Jones & His City Slickers on December 6, 1947, with lead vocal by George Rock. That version reached the top of the pop charts in 1948, and again in 1949. The song has also been recorded by numerous other singers and performers, including Ray Stevens, George Strait, Danny Kaye with The Andrews Sisters, The Platters, Dread Zeppelin, The Kelly Family,  Nat King Cole (reportedly Gardner's favorite version), The Chipmunks, the Hampton String Quartet, The Three Stooges, and Count von Count of Sesame Street.
