As we approach the end of another incredible year at the label, we proudly present our annual various artist compilation ‘Shogun Audio Presents: 2023’ - celebrating the incredible talent within our roster and vibrant drum & bass community. Reflecting the label's commitment to empowering artists, cultivating communities, and championing music that resonates with fans worldwide, these twenty-two handpicked tracks embody everything that the label stands for; quality drum & bass music. 

As we look ahead to 2024 to celebrate a key milestone for the label, remember to keep it Shogun.

Shogun Audio Presents: 2023

Two artists that have found a home for their exquisite sonic palettes on Shogun Audio, Pola & Bryson and Emily Makis now serve up some of their most captivating work to date. Titled 'Phoneline', this latest offering collates Emily's mesmerising vocal capabilities and songwriting with the masterful production of one of drum and bass' most talented production duos.

Following on from a monstrous 2022's in which Pola & Bryson released 'Tell You What I Did', which went into rotation on Radio 1's playlist, and remixed the likes of David Guetta, VenBee, and High Contrast, 'Phoneline' sees them link up with a future superstar and the most exciting and compelling vocalist in drum and bass music in Emily Makis.
A frenzy of drums, plucks, synth work, and vocals that all co-exist in a sphere that's equal in its vast quantities of tension, power, and beauty, 'Phoneline' is a serious statement from both artists that'll resonate with listeners in the dance just as much as it will with those hearing it at home.

It's not often that songs like this come around - we can't wait to share this one with the world.

Hot off the back of their recent collab 'Mud', Monrroe & Duskee return to the Shogun soundwaves with a smooth liquid track that borrows the vocal serenity of vocal star Nina Ayra. 

Drenched in serene sonics from start to finish, Monrroe's signature production touch glistens 'Reluctant' in an aura of stripped-back D&B brilliance. Accompanied by the unrivalled originality, distinctive flow, and vocal prowess of London-based MC Duskee and the welcomed inclusion of Nina Ayra’s soulful vocal palette and introspective lyricism, the trio serve up a superb piece of music that promises to resonate with listeners across the globe.

Monrroe & Duskee are also kicking off 2023 in style, teaming up for a nine-date joint UK tour that sees them take their irresistible sound to Cardiff, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Brighton, Bristol, Leeds, Bath & Sheffield.

An enrapturing collaboration between two of the most exciting names to embed themselves in the D&B scene over the past couple of years, Deadline & Javeon proudly flex their eclectic musical abilities in ‘All Night, a smooth, soulful, and feel-good rolling drum and bass track that summarizes the genres incredible ability to capture various moods, emotions, and vibes - all within the space of piece of music. 

With previous collabs with Emily Makis, Charlotte Haining, and Alexa Harley already under Deadline’s belt, including his huge streaming track ‘Never Be Alone’, the exciting new-gen talent teams up with Bristol-based Javeon, whose soul-tinged vocals and captivating songwriting have led to him becoming one of the most prominent members of the Shogun roster. Written at a Shogun Audio Writer Camp last year, 'Way Up' combines all the qualities that have seen Pola & Bryson, Lens, and Goddard's stock rise exponentially in the last twelve months whilst infusing the rolling drum and bass brilliance with Javeon's beguiling voice.
