Berlin by way of Brooklyn, Adam-X appears on the 12th installment of the L.I.E.S. podcast series under his ADMX-71 guise. A seasoned veteran of the world of electronic music, Adam has seen it all and done it all since stepping onto the scene in the early-nineties, and through the years has used his ADMX-71 moniker to explore industrial and experimental musical territories. His "Redacted Files" ep will appear on L.I.E.S. at the end of June and delves into the world of dark slowbeat electronic mayhem.

Technique’s annual summer compilation has become one of the highlights of the label’s release schedule and this year’s edition is no exception.

Technique Summer 2016 features 37 tracks from across the drum & bass spectrum hand picked by Drumsound & Bassline Smith.

The label bosses themselves roll through with the fluid jungle of the Solah-laced “Cover Our Eyes”, the no-holds-barred funk of “Rise of the Black Panther” and their epic dubwise collaboration with Digital, “First World Problem”.

And then there are the big name cameos from artists not normally seen under the Technique banner. Brookes Brothers and Danny Byrd team up with the uplifting drive of “Climb High”, matched in hands-in-the-air power by the euphoric piano of The Prototypes’ “Don’t Let Me Go”. J Majik recruits 78° and Louie Cabrera for “Day I Left” and “Elastic” respectively. And the mighty DJ SS drops an emotively claustrophobic killer in the form of “Expression”.

Of course, the regular regiment of Technique soldiers are present and correct too. Tantrum Desire delivers the tech atmospherics of “Tesoro”, while Kronology subverts the big-room sound with the unpredictable twists and turns of “Everyday”. L Plus backs up rumbling bass and popping beats with entwined chord patterns in “Invincible”. Plus Document One show two different sides to their character, with the jazz funk vibe of “Klaxon” and the paranoid sci-fi of “Say What”.

And we’re nowhere near covering everything this album has to offer. From the jungle tear-out of Brian Brainstorm’s “Badman Selector” to the minimal magic of Oder’s “Mesmerize”, via the liquid purity of Salaryman’s “He Knows”, this is a journey that needs to be experienced. Any selection that takes you straight from Fade’s “Disco Ball” into Conspire’s “Glare of Brass” then to Salaryman’s “Synthesized Melancholia” is making a statement about the strength in depth of the D&B genre right now.

If all that wasn’t enough, all the tracks are featured on two continuous mixes by Kronology.

The first album sampler features Drumsound & Bassline Smith’s “Rise of the Black Panther” and is available now exclusively in the Beatport store and from the Technique shop from June 10. The second sampler includes Document One’s Klaxon and you can get your hands on in from June 24 in the Technique shop. The full album is released on 1 July but you can pre-order it now on iTunes and all other stores.

Following a string of successful releases Krakota is back with a massive 14-track collection. ‘Strange System’ marries heavy distortion with razor-sharp clarity, crossing and colouring the black and white lines of drum & bass with his versatile style and slick production. His debut album stands tall and proud shouting his individual sound. Never underestimate Krakota, he’s full of surprises!

In ‘Colour Of The Past’ Krakota simultaneously tugs at the heartstrings and hits hard in the face with vocals brought by new finding Karina Ramage. The French-Scottish-English songwriter was a surprise find by label boss Chris Goss as he discovered her busking on London’s South Bank. Another clear highlight is his partnering with our second label boss for ‘Powder Coated’ - the perfect mix of London Elektricity soul and Krakota power.

‘Half Life’ is a reminder back to the massive dancefloor damage caused by ‘Ice Hands’, ‘Ghosts’ and ‘Xylo’ last year. Its gritty split of siren calls and deep bouncing bass hits in all the right places. Krakota's musical edge shows in ‘Elastic’ with funk flare and horns hailing. ‘North Winds’ and ‘Turn of Fate’ blend arcade style synth work with crackles of white noise.

A consistently brilliant producer, Krakota’s carved out his own style over the past few years getting his name noticed on dancefloors around the UK and Europe. He's received support from the likes of BBC Radio 1's Friction and well remembered for his tear out live mix on BBC Radio 1Xtra's Soundclash in 2015. His solitary stance in the drum & bass world has been making waves and that’s sure to continue with his outstanding debut album ‘Strange System’.

DayKoda was born by the wish to express willing, words and emotions through the introspective world of electronic music. Dark textures, downtempo, acid jazz and lo-fi strongly influenced by hip hop and “Beat Music”: this is DayKoda, solo project created by 20 year old Andrea Gamba, which is built upon layers of field recordings, acoustic stratification, arp sounds, shaker and loop grooves. 

In DayKoda’s music you can find the desire to develop music with colours and special sounds, giving it a very personal, emotive form which brings listeners in a continuous emotional growing, moving on to another, possible, futuristic world.

Lenzman once again melds his Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz influences with his take on Drum & Bass to bring together an EP of heartfelt inner city music.

'In My Mind' sees the producer team up with IAMDDB, a Neo Soul singer who is part of a new wave of exciting upcoming artists from Manchester. Her unique voice and disconnection from Drum & Bass gives the two a chance to forge a new direction.

'Earth Tones' sees further collaborations with well-established vocalist Steo on 'Tender Love', and with Metalheadz veteran Jubei on 'Park Hill'. San Franciscan resident and long time collaborator Submorphics joins for 'Bayview', which all come together to give the whole package a beautifully rounded, truly open worldview.
