When I got Pete's beat, I thought, he meant it. Just 5 minutes ago I found out he used it for another track. Cold blooded. Left me really disappointed. I worked hard on the track, involving jazz legend Rude Gerro, digging deep in the collective unconscious, giving it some real thought, you know.
Well what my so called crew, the SHG, now released is just a joke to the musical ear, really. The fact that they were unable to come up with anything that was so far unused, is a disappointment, though it remains small. I was always the one making beats.
The recycling vibe has finally pierced their minds to the full. But in soul music, sustainability means to have the freshness on lock, never running out. It is a pity having to come across this dawning realisation, but one should know his field, art or business.
