The West Tennessee Examiner News & Classifieds, Inc., was founded by Bill Marable in June of 2000 as a means of promoting the “Good News” that takes place in West TN communities.

The paper is published every Thursday and distributed to more than 150 locations throughout rural West Tennessee. The Examiner newspapers are distributed to the following counties in West TN: Madison, Gibson, Crockett, Chester, Hardeman, Haywood, Obion and Weakley.

West TN Examiner, Inc. newspapers are distributed to grocery stores, convenient stores, doctors offices, salons, restaurants, hotels and inside news stands for 50 cents per copy. Subscriptions are available for $35 per year and church delivery prices start at $20 per month.
While our numbers are growing every week, The Examiner currently boast a readership of more than 20,000 weekly and our website generates approximately 7,000 views weekly. The Examiner highlights Good News in West TN. (Community, Church, Education, Health, Society, Beauty, Political, Classifieds and Foreclosure Notices). The Examiner is published every Thursday.

Weekly features include: Out and About by Gwenda Anthony, Small change in Health by Myrtly Russell, Publisher’s Point by Bill Marable and Hair Talk by Camille Shavon. Cameron Russell and Ernest Mitchell provide weekly sports highlights and photographs covering the Jackson Generals, Memphis Grizzlies and Tennessee Titans in the professional ranks; as well as coverage of area college and high school sports.
Community and church announcement are published weekly as well as news pertaining to business and politics.

While “Good News” encompasses the majority of the paper, national, state and local crime new is also covered in The CrimeSEEN section of the paper. That section was established in May, 2007. The CrimeSEEN highlights local murders, arrested, classifieds and foreclosure notices.

Shorty Phresh is an up and coming MC on the rise to the top. Through her musical skills, she plans on breaking down many discriminating barriers, especially for the "Lesbian Community”. Fans love Shorty Phresh, because she embraces who she is as a female and refuses to hide any aspect of her preferences. She is by no means just another female rapper.  She is an Artist who makes music that both sexes can relate to. She brings something new to the game that has been overlooked for decades.

Born July 18 in Oakland, Ca., Shorty Phresh was always surrounded by music and basketball. Seeking a better life, her mother moved to Las Vegas when she was 11 years-old. It wasn’t until a high school talent show in Las Vegas that Shorty P. realized she wanted to be an entertainer. Shorty P., her sister and a friend later formed a group called “Reign”.

After completing High School, Shorty moved to Illinois where she went to college on a basketball scholarship. She then signed to play college basketball for Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee. Jackson provided an opportunity for Shorty Phresh to pursue her musical dreams. 

With the help of Kodeezie Productions, Shorty released “MoneyBag” mixtape which took the Jackson streets by storm.  Shorty P. then dropped her latest single "We Can Start An Epidemic".  She later performed the single at Pat Charles B.E.T “Blaze The Stage” talent showcase in Jackson. The crowd loved her so much; she was invited to open the following showcase in Memphis, TN. After her performance at B.E.T “Blaze The Stage” in Memphis, she was invited to open for Miami Mike’s (Soulja Boy manager) showcase which also took place in Memphis. Shorty P. has performed at several other venues - Memphis Pride, Atlanta and Birmingham, AL to name a few.

It’s beyond rap for Shorty Phresh. She has a confident and cocky swag that embodies a fly level of cool from her stylish persona to the lyrics that she spit.

"It’s not always about lyrics and a hot beat. It’s also about putting on a good show for the people" states Shorty Phresh.

The new single "We Can Start An Epidemic" is climbing very quickly to the top of the charts. Listening to her music you will get the best of both worlds.
