Whatever You've Been Through

Let the Drum Tell You is about shamanic drumming. It's about connecting with the elements, finding that transcendental place from where healing happens. It's about the drum as both an instrument and a teacher and healer. 

In mid October 2017 I was in need of some healing and processing of a series of unpleasant events in recent months. I woke up in the night whilst I was having a  dream in which a dear friend was playing a gigantic frame drum that had animal bones tied all around it. As I was remembering the dream I could feel this song coming so I grabbed the guitar and wrote words and music simultaneously.

  We normally play it live in a stripped down fashion with just the frame drum, guitar and our voices. However for this production I chose to enhance the epic nature I feel underlies the track. The frame drum and the djembe are still the pulse and heartbeat but alongside guitar and vocals I created many layers of rhythmic and ethereal sounds to weave a colourful tapestry.

I wish for this song to bring you healing and be of support to you in your practises and your lives.
