2015 was the year where I started to combine my musical creativity with the topics I write about as a journalist: net politics and digital rights. Train of Hope 
This track has also has a special story. As you know, Train of Hope was founded, when suddenly thousands of refugees arrived at the train station in Vienna. The help there was mainly organized by people over the internet and social media. As an online journalist who writes about social media & activism and as a music producer, I thought that I want to make my own contribution. 

My musical project 
For my song Train of Hope I collected 40 voices from people all around the internet & offline - from fans, co-workers, workshop coordinators, trainees, teachers, it-specialists, project managers, radio journalists, programmers, computer nerds, students of informatics & other subjects, my twitter followers, mums, dads - and even a child contributed to my project. Little Sarah, 8 years old. I was very impressed! And I loved her voice, so you can hear her more than one time! 

Train of Hope is my contribution to the album sampler Bass of Hope which I compile together with Ira. It will be the first single, 19 other artists and 1h 45 minutes of electronic music are also contributing their work. All we earn, will be given to the Train of Hope team to help refugees in Austria. Final Statement
Train of Hope was a heart project. It is my contribution to help in the current situation that Europe has to live with. And my statement in favor for more humanity and less hatred.

The Polarity Epos remix of Shroombab's Hidden Faces starts with an epic melody, developing to a true neuro-dnb stomper in the middle part. Distorted noise fx call, over-compressed beats respond - and vice versa.

PsychoFX plays with the melodic parts of the original tune, but pushes them towards a new, different dimension. The main part with its heavy bassline drops heavily after a minimal intro, featuring fat synths and melodic arrangements in between.

“The Base” is starting with some nice bells and stompin’ beats, but the real party starts when the deep sub-bassline drops in. “Are you ready?”, asks a voice and invites you to the dancefloor.

The Base (Original)

Shroombab, DJ, producer and founder of High Tension Recordings, is a fixed “institution” of Austrias drum&bass-scene. She was born in Upper Austria and moved to Vienna in 1997 – where she started to change her instruments from flute & guitar to turntables & sequencers. Successfully: Gigs in over 28 countries all over the world and several record releases on quality labels followed.

Shroombabs efforts to create her own music and get perfect at spinning records were strong. But not enough, she combined creativity with her talent to organize things: She set up her own Drum’n’Bass clubnight called “Bass Land” (with MC Terra), her own label “High Tension Recordings” and founded the “Junglistic Sistaz” – first a successful girls duo with MC Terra, later a database for women in drum&bass, which got a quality reference for female DJs especially in Eastern Europe.

Apart from numerous national DJ bookings at the best and most established clubs all over Austria, Shroombab got a residency at D.Kay & Raw.fulls weekly clubnight "Beat It" at the famous Flex in Vienna which is running since 2004. Her international DJ-gigs brought her to places like Cape Town, Johannesburg, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Talin, Seattle, Paris, London, Barcelona, Berlin, Bukarest, Bratislava and many more. 

2014, djing for 16 years, she still delivers the same quality as ever. It doesn't matter if she plays in front of 100 or 5000 people, in small smokey clubs or huge heavy raves, Shroombab always knows how to rock the crowd and give them what they want. Watch out for her uplifting, spooky and moving DJ-Sets and some strong tunes besides genre-boarders. Her favorite producers are Calyx, Matrix, Ed Rush & Optical, Teebee, Break, Benny Page, Deekline, Ils, Aquasky, DZ, High Rankin, Skream, Marlow and many more.

At some point Drum&Bass was not enough anymore and she got infected by the genres breaks and dubstep as well. In 2005 Shroombab startet to play dirty breaks with electro influence as well under her nick "REMODEL". In 2007 she also got into filthy dubstep. After a Bounce-Party with DJ Chef in Vienna she got totally hooked on the huge basslines that originally brought her to drum&bass. A few month later, her first dubstep tune ever got signed two hours after finishing it – by the well-respected DUBKRAFT label from Romania. More things to follow!

2008 Shroombab decided to bring her label High Tension back to the market. She has released several tunes and remixes ranging from drum&bass over breakbeat to dubstep so far. In the winter of 2010 Shroombabs debut album SPLENDID! was released.
