It's time for Exposé 05 and we've invited Daniele Miladinov a.k.a Modern Abuse to take us on a deep dive!

Ambitious and ready to continue his musical journey, he stays true to his vision of sound and successfully manages to diffuse his unique brand of energy within any space.
His sound embodies experimental broken grooves, profound and hypnotic elements and reflects his major influences from Spanish techno.
Apart from polishing his musical taste, Modern Abuse has also been focusing on the development of the local techno scene since the beginning of his journey.
So far, he has had the opportunity to be invited on the same lineups with artists such as Kwartz, CONCEPTUAL, Freddy K, D-Leria, Quelza, Paula Koski, Annē, Perfo and to play at the well-known Suicide Club in Berlin.
In 2021, Modern Abuse joined Friendship collective – a Berlin-based promoter of art and electronic music that organises interactive events and promotes unconventional techno internationally. From this point onwards, his circle of like-minded people has only been growing as well as his motivation.

To relaunch his seminal imprint, Infrastructure New York, David Sumner aka Function presents his new 12", Green EP. Celebrating 27 years of Function releases this year and the label’s 25th anniversary, the label will serve as an outlet for his new material, reissues of out of print classics from Synewave, Sandwell District and Ostgut Ton (and of course, Infrastructure), as well as developing new artists and launching a long awaited Bandcamp page - exploring the annals of nearly three decades of the Function sound.
 
As a member of the Sandwell District collective, Function, from 2007 onward was instrumental in cultivating and ushering in a new sound of dark, cerebral hypnotica - forcing the hand of change in global techno. Green EP serves as a testament to this, further exploring these depths. The EP pays homage to the day when David arrived in Berlin with his green suitcase where his record “Isolation” on Sandwell District was released, hitting the ground running and spring boarding into an incredibly successful career, becoming a stalwart DJ/producer, after years as a struggling artist.
 
Green EP encapsulates the same raw power and hypnotic energy of his genre defining Sandwell District releases Isolation, Anticipation and Variance, updated with a modern flair. Subject f (Function) has clearly transcended, as expressed through the opening track “Initiation” arriving at his “New Designation”. On the b-side Function communicates his divine alignment through the broken beat, etheric “Aeternum (Meridian)”. Finally, Function closes Green EP with a live extraction of “Desire and Memory”, a brooding club stormer in contrast to the more experimental leanings of the original version, which appeared on Rrose’s label Eaux.
 
Next to releasing a new EP and restarting the label, an attached Bandcamp page and label webshop will be launched. These portals will in time see the release of previously out of stock releases as well as re-issues and unreleased Function material, next to new releases by other artists. No doubt fans will be excited!
 
One thing is clear: Function is back on track and more on form than ever!

Bending the curve of linear techno’s musty grammar and its underexploited power of artistic transgression, the Ukrainian producer graced the grooves of the most high-end record labels out there, including Token Records, Modularz, Semantica, Mord and yours truly. Threading his way into our mix series with two hours of mind-expanding hardware magic involving 3 CDJs, an analogue drum machine, FX plus some analogue random modular sequencers, Tolkachev hits hard and sure, sending us in orbit up a galaxy far, far away, only he can shepherd his enlightened flock to. Flush with trippy flights out techno’s outer space and proper floor-destroying plot twists, this one promises to have you zoning out of this world entirely. Enjoy the journey.
