Greetings, everyone!

Shubin started with mixes which for some reason ended up missing from the face of the internet and we bring them back for you to enjoy again.

Today we start a new series of mixes on our channel. Titled "Exposé", these mixes will showcase upcoming and innovative artists from the underground electronic music scene, with our first focus being on Bulgaria. With these series, we would like to contribute to the underground scene and attempt to bring light to artists that deserve it. Our first entry in the series is by Marthen. As one of the co-creators of the channel, Marthen loves to delve deeper and explores a wide variety of electronic sounds. Here he showcases his extensive music palate.

He's been mixing and producing techno since the end of 2017. As a co-organiser at @hardertrax he's had the chance to play at venues like Tell Me, Fabrica 126, Club Nether in Bucharest and others. Now you are about to read our interview with him where we get a deeper insight into what he does with passion.

Днес стартираме нова поредица от миксове в канала на име "Експозѐ". Те ще се фокусират върху иновативни и тепърва прохождащи изпълнители от ъндърграунд електронната сцена като първо започваме с България. С тази поредица се надяваме да допринесем към сцената и да представим различни артисти, които заслужават внимание. Първият микс идва от един от основателите на Shubin. Marthen (Мартин Мартинов) показва своят богат и разнообразен вкус за техно.

It's time for Exposé 05 and we've invited Daniele Miladinov a.k.a Modern to take us on a deep dive!

Ambitious and ready to continue his musical journey, he stays true to his vision of sound and successfully manages to diffuse his unique brand of energy within any space.
His sound embodies experimental broken grooves, profound and hypnotic elements and reflects his major influences from Spanish techno.
Apart from polishing his musical taste, Modern has also been focusing on the development of the local techno scene since the beginning of his journey.
So far, he has had the opportunity to be invited on the same lineups with artists such as Kwartz, CONCEPTUAL, Freddy K, D-Leria, Quelza, Paula Koski, Annē, Perfo and to play at the well-known Suicide Club in Berlin.
In 2021, Modern joined Friendship collective – a Berlin-based promoter of art and electronic music that organises interactive events and promotes unconventional techno internationally. From this point onwards, his circle of like-minded people has only been growing as well as his motivation.

Exposé 05 - Modėrn

After a short break, we are taking off again with a special mix from one of the all time greats - Kevin Saunderson aka E-DANCER.

Kevin is one of the producers who helped shape the sound of techno music in the 1980s. He gained fame as one-third of the Belleville Three before his solo career took off with hits like "Big Fun" and "Good Life." Saunderson founded his own record label, KMS Records, which became a platform for emerging techno artists. Kevin's influence can be heard in the work of countless artists who have followed in his footsteps, cementing his legacy as a pioneer of techno music.

Exposé 08 - Wanderbursche

This special mix comes straight from the source of techno music - Jeff Mills. Originally, this mix was created for the Skyrave radio show and broadcast on Skyrock radio. The first 34 minutes of the mix are a promo for the then-upcoming DVD "Blue Potential" by Jeff Mills. Blue Potential presents techno music by Mills accompanied by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Montpellier. Spencer Kincy also known as Gemini is a prolific producer and DJ rising from Chicago's second wave of underground artists. From 1994 to 1999 Spencer released over 200 tracks on various labels, while never compromising in their quality. Although few of his recordings are available online, all of them showcase Spencer's incredible mixing skills and track selection.

This recording is currently only available on the Beta Lounge website - https://betalounge.com/. Please check out Beta Lounge for more recordings of some amazing DJs. The Beta Lounge project, quite like Spencer was also ahead of its time. The original recording starts with Ming & FS while Gemini plays in the second part. We know that the sound quality is not ideal but the quality of the music that is being played remains eternal. With this upload, we would like to remind everyone of Spencer's contribution to the history of house music and keep his legacy alive he is an inspiration to a lot of artists.

Spencer Kincy aka Gemini - Art in Motion, Beta Lounge (11.02.1999)

Jerome Sydenham is a highly respected Nigerian-born DJ, electronic music producer, and the founder of the respected label Ibadan Records. Currently based in Berlin, Jerome had a career that made him travel the globe and rock every dancefloor that he was able to touch. A producer who creates meaningful and creative pieces, Jerome has worked with some of the biggest names such as Kerri Chandler, Carl Craig, and others.

This mix was recorded at Planet Rose (Doornroosje) in Nijmegen, Netherlands. Showcasing Jerome's technical abilities, this work will take you on a 3-hour trip. This mix used to be available on websites that are not currently functioning, and only the second part was available online, so we decided to restore it. Steve Bicknell is one of the foundational figures of the genre and a true veteran of the UK techno scene, widely respected for his iconic sound. A key figure in shaping the London underground, he is known for the legendary LOOP parties and countless releases on various labels, which cemented him not only as a great DJ but also as an recognizable producer.
Originally split into 2 parts, this mix demonstrates Bicknell's admirable DJ skills all the way back in 2001. The first 30 seconds of the mix were deleted due to audio issues, and the 2 parts were combined into one for your listening pleasure. Enjoy this rare piece of history from one of techno's finest.

Steve Bicknell - Concord Club, Germany (15.12.2001)

We are back with a rare mix from two of techno's biggest names - Surgeon and Ben Sims. Together they are known as Frequency 7. This is a one-hour excerpt of a seven-hour set in the legendary club Unit in Tokyo. 
According, to an interview with Surgeon, the duo decided to play for 7 hours, on the 7th of May, as Frequency 7.  Although this short excerpt won't be able to do the whole night justice, it still manages to showcase the lighter side of the duo and their ability to tell a story.

We are back with a very special episode for our Exposé series. Not only is it our first episode in the double digits but we also celebrate the birthday of the person behind the mix - Archon.

Born and based in Bulgaria, he is a DJ and producer who has been involved in one way or another in the Bulgarian electronic music scene for more than a decade now. Always eager to explore and find new experiences, he has been entrenched in the local underground. You can find him mostly in TABA Record Store, where he frequently collaborates, and sometimes he can make you a mean rakija sour.

Exposé 10 - Archon

For all that's underground.

Shubin is the name of a mythological spirit that roams the mines. According to some legends, Shubin is a good spirit who protects miners from hazardous gas. According to others, Shubin is a vengeful spirit causing trouble.

This project strives to bring back online DJ mixes that were once available for listening but have since been lost in time. These "Lost Gems" vary in terms of genre with the main focus being put on techno, house, and electro.

Éxpose is the second series of the project, providing a musical platform for both upcoming and established artists whose sound resonates with the project's vision. Currently, the focus is on artists from Bulgaria, with more countries to follow.

Lastly, the project also organizes events aimed at creating a deeper cultural connection for the listener, with a primary focus on the music itself.
