After countless hours spent chopping up vinyl, laying down basslines, tweaking synthesizers and banging on drum pads I'm proud to present "I'm Gone". This album aims to bring back the soulful sounds of the past while maintaining a bass-heavy modern feel. I'm especially happy with two tracks on the album which feature my friend Willdabeast (of Snug Harbour and Michal Menert Big Band). Will laid down some soulful horns, flute and a few other instruments to take my sample-based beats to the next level. It’s apparent how much fun Qdup and EVeryman had while writing the lyrics for Joyride. They were on tour driving between gigs and pulled inspiration for being on a Joyride to the party. For these remixes, Qdup commissioned a few good friends to hop in the whip and reimagine the ride. First up is old friend and fellow Washington, DC native Wes Smith who relocated to San Diego, CA. Rusty Cravers is the new Future House side project of Vancouver’s Wood n Soo who are good friends from western Canada and part of the Danio Management family.

You may know Wes Smith from his releases on Punks Music and his own Juice Recordings imprint, Wes has really made a name for himself in recent years with his remixes and original production. This is the second Wes Smith Remix on Fort Knox Recordings, and his musical diversity shines well on this remix as he pumps up the tempo to a Jacking Funky House vibe. Wes Smith let EVeryman’s lyrics lead the track and drops a huge 808 fueled breaks breakdown in the middle which is sure to set the dance floor ablaze!

Rusty Cravers push the tempo up as well and remixed Joyride into a bass-driven Future House banger destined to wreck dance floors worldwide. Laden with infectious dark keyboard leads and more dubbed out vocals let their clean production style come through. Huge horn stabs push a driving house beat and a devastating sub bass that can flex any sound system set the tone for their trip to the party!

Shuj Roswell is the latest musical creation of Denver's own, Mark A. Cooley. Releasing his debut album on Michal Menert's Super Best Records label in 2015, he carefully curates vinyl samples of 60's and 70's funk and soul as a foundation for his production. Fusing traditional sample based hip-hop techniques with warm analog synthesis and hard hitting beats, he sets the table for a sound within the Electro Soul movement he calls, Funk-tron-a-delic.

When playing out, Shuj Roswell Live takes the musical experience to the next level by bringing live instrumentation into the mix. Mark plays guitar and is accompanied on stage by drummer and good friend, Eric Imbrosciano. Eric comes from a hip-hop, funk, and jazz background originating from his early years gigging in and around the New York music scene. He injects a soulful vibe into the Shuj Roswell live sound from laid back hip-hop grooves to drum & bass breaks. Eric also performs in the jazz-fusion quartet, Space Orphan. You might have run into him as he hosts several open jams around the Denver area

In addition to his drummer Eric, Shuj Roswell Live consists of emcee, J. Shook, who’s recorded vocals on several Shuj Roswell tracks and a rotating who’s who on saxophone, trumpet and trombone. Mark recorded with and sampled his live band in the studio on the EP, Shuttlecock
