Have you realized that everything in your life you have thought to do has been because of some sort of inspiration you received from someone, something, or some place? Inspiration is the light that pulls us forward and one of the most valuable principles in our human experience. It has the power to drive us to supreme greatness and has the potential to change the world in a small or huge way. 

What inspires you... that light that pulls you towards it and brings you joy enough to take action? Inspiration is unique to everyone and to recognize it in our everyday lives is a beautiful habit to cultivate. The more I follow my inspiration with grace and gratitude, the more sacred and blessed my life becomes. 

Rumi, the Sufi mystic, says “What you seek is seeking you.” 

As we seek to honor the Dance of Fathers Day and Summer Solstice this week, let's gain inspiration from both! Father energy has a great way of offering a solid sense of safety and inspires us to keep our chins up, be strong, courageous, prepared, self sufficient, successful, and show kindness and respect. The Sun of Solstice brings the first day of summer which inspires new activities, to be outside more and spend time with nature, enjoy, play, and take vacations! No doubt, its time for inspired action and some serious fun! 

For this Sunday's dance journey, I invite us to become aware of our inspirations. Maybe it's a particular sound, rhythm, movement, partner, thought, feeling, idea or memory. Let's use this dance to honor that light which pulls us forward and that which shines through! 

On this powerful day with Father and Sun, let's be inspired, shine our light, and be an inspiration to our people. Why walk through life when you can dance?
