Maeve 09 is a special record. It welcomes the return of one of the founding members of the label, Baikal. Although the Dutchman has had somewhat of a hiatus from releasing music, his hard work and struggle with the process of creating forward thinking electronic music has always continued. “Pelican’s Flight” reaps the rewards of this carefully nurtured process and proves most definitely it was worth the wait. 

The title track “Pelican’s Flight” is a mesmerizing ten-minute techno trip. A throbbing kick drum is decorated with sparkling synth lines all moving on their own orbit creating a trance like effect on the dance floor. The pinnacle of the trip hears rasping chords blast through the swell in a glorious moment of elation; in short this is a bomb. 

The B-side “All Forces Occur In Pairs” goes deeper again, drawing the listener into a similar hypnotic state. Various sonic ideas breathe in and out of the foreground creating a swirl of expectancy and excitement. This track will cause you to close your eyes and be carried away to another dimension…

Isolée’s Arrival

When three people run a label together it is exceptionally rare to find a positive unified opinion of a record upon first listen. When Isolée sent his "Mangroove" EP to Maeve, this was in fact what happened. But it is Isolée after all....

Mangroove came about last summer when The Drifter happened to catch Isolée's live set at a festival in Switzerland. Instantly blown away by the A side "Pisco" he was determined to find out what it was and if it was to be released. After chatting, Isolée suggested that he would send "Pisco" along with a couple of other "demos" to Maeve and a few days later the EP was happening.

Isolée has created some of the most important and beautiful records of our generation and has being a huge influence on what we do, thus we are incredibly excited and humbled to release his work.

This three track EP shows several different sides of the Frankfurt native, from the A-side dance floor catalyst that is "Pisco" to the deeper dubbier B-sides of "L5 Syndrome" and "Mangrove". This is the perfect record to mark our tenth release.

Free Download: Cerillo - People Power

From Another Mind first started as a South German party series but soon evolved into a fully fledged label run by SHDW & Obscure Shape. Now it operates as a label and for the fourth release, they've invited a high-profile techno squadron to remix some of their tracks.

Artists like Rødhåd, Dax J, Konstantin Sibold and Ryan James Ford have all offered up their own high-octane and emotive re-imaginings of the duo's tracks but today we feature Tale of Us & Mind Against's edit.

Their remix of 'Die Weiße Rose' is a piledriving techno behemoth, one suited for dark, dank warehouses. Its synths zap across the forefront while venomous kicks thump away in the background.

It's the sort of demonic, mutant-energy track we've come to expect from both sets of producers and we're fairly certain it's going to explode. Check it out exclusively below.

Premiere: SHDW & Obscure Shape 'Die Weiße Rose' (Tale of Us & Mind Against Version)

Marc DePulse takes control on Ukraine-based imprint Eleatics Records this February, lining up a solo lead cut in 'Snarewolf' while Paul Ursin and Stas Drive join him in a remix capacity. 'Snarewolf' is a rampant techno with an eery atmospheric backdrop. It centres around a harrowing set of hi-hats and some abrasive synth work, making for a tense, driving dance-floor weapon.

Premiere: Marc DePulse - Snarewolf [Eleatics Records]

Techno dame Nicole Moudaber follows up releases on prestigious labels such as Adam Beyer's Drumcode, Pan-Pot's Second State and of course her own Mood Records with an outing on Jon Rundell & Carl Cox's Intec Digital this month. The 'Empty Space' EP, set for release this Friday, is a whopper three track ensemble crafted with that signature stirring touch. 'Young Hearts', track 3 on the release is a undeniable roof raiser. It's a powerful, unrelenting tune with a mind-warping top line entrancing the listener.
