September In A Day, often compared to Secondhand Serenade and Story of the Year, delivers a powerful, raw emotional sound with a message of events that occur in our lives, relating subjects that we face on a day to day basis, weaved craftily into catchy, memorable melodies. Dedication to writing powerful music and lyrics is the goal, not blending in as just another band, aspiring and inspiring and bringing a certain uniqueness to the table.

Made up of two members, September In A Day has released an EP entitled Here To Stay, recorded a single and played at prime venues around Cape Town in the time they have been together. Having placed in the top 4 and semi-finals of various competitions, September In A Day has turned heads and proved they deserved it as they went up against many bands bigger in following and size, proving that September In A Day is not just any ordinary acoustic band.

After kicking off in late 2011, their first show was played at The Purple Turtle. The band was formed after Alex Bartie and Matt O'Kelly met through their previous band. Soon after, the band headed into studio to start the gradual process of recording their debut EP, Here To Stay. In July 2012, Here To Stay was released independently. This was featured on AFM on the day of the release.

September In A Day was invited to play on the Main Stage at Rock The River 2012-13. However, in August 2012, September In A Day made the difficult decision to take an indefinite break and unfortunately were forced to decline.

In May 2013 the decision was made for September in a Day to return. The band now operates amongst life's happenings, including Alex's work and studies and Matt's studies and involvement in other band projects.

Having played in many places around Cape Town, from Alma Cafe to Mercury Live to the Pepper Club Hotel, September In A Day has turned heads and done nothing less than leave people wanting more.
