The Gold Rush

Hot track from "The Gasoline Brothers" download album on the Acoustic Disc label. It's a long lost recording from a hot jam session with David Grisman (mandolin), Tony Rice (guitar), Steve Arkin (banjo) and Todd Phillips (bass). The jam took place in 1977 at David Grisman's Bay Area house in 1977 when Tony Rice and Steve were both houseguests.  Grisman found these recordings in his files--none of us remembered the jam or that it was recorded.  Tony and David called themselves "the Gasoline Brothers" because they shared a heavy foot on the gas pedal when they played together!   
Here's one of my favorite tracks from the album: Salt Creek was Bill Monroe's name for Clark Kessinger's Salt River.  This track is from the 1977 jam at David Grisman's house--with me on banjo, Tony Rice on Guitar, David (Dawg) Grisman on mandolin, and Todd Phillips on bass.
