Hræfn is a pioneering DJ and producer based in Tehran, known for being the first to introduce rave culture to Iran’s underground in 2018. Drawing deeply from heavy music genres like black and doom metal, their bold, dark sound has ignited a movement, paving a new path for techno and rave culture where none existed before. Despite the significant risks of hosting illegal events, Hræfn views these gatherings as “group therapy,” creating a rare space for Tehran’s youth to navigate societal pressures. Guided by the mantra, “Let there be noise and silence to guide you through your darkness,” they continue to lead Tehran’s courageous, burgeoning rave scene.
