Coming from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Tobías Leiro aka Tobey is a DJ and producer working with local influences and rhythms as well as contemporary stimuli absorbed by the fervent digital worldwide hybrid and post-club scene. His music reportedly sets out to combine sonic experiments with experiences of everyday life, in an attempt to make it open and accessible to any kindred minds.

Walking on the same path it's his participation with the collective and mix series Internacional Bailable which he co-founded, and the close affiliation with AGVA, a huge hub of cutting-edge electronic music from international artists by the likes of WULFFLUW XCIV, Syntrovert, El Plvybxy, and many others. AGVA, in particular, hosted one of Tobey's finest pieces called Naturaleza Moderna, a stunning blend of heartfelt melodies and rupturing kickdrums included in the second v/a compilation sampler out April '21.

So far, his outings have also reached several record labels from Argentina and Mexico, such as the amazing HYPERSONICS, Vista Recordings, and LOWERS, which respectively released in 2020 the TIPU EP, Balada EP, and the It Feels Weird three-tracker. Tobey's compositions manage to create shape-shifting musical environments by proficiently mixing tempestuous bass frequencies, grime's broken rhythmic patterns, jungle's sudden accelerations, deconstructed club, dembow, and even gamelan.

Today, we're so glad to be having this eclectic artist who joins us with an exclusive guest mix spanning a little over 39 minutes. The mixed selection showcases his approach to club music which is focused on envisioning ways of making coexist multiple influences and their many facets, in order to finally produce organic, unfeigned outputs. Confined Space stems from the idea of repurposing audio material from YouTube, in an artistic process that values quantity over quality. Random videos are selected using different key words and their audio is chopped and compressed into the DAW to be used as compositional elements. Often scrolling down to get the uploads with the least views, this process is both a reflection on the enormous quantity of material that can be found online and an invitation to use and repurpose digital content in new artistic ways. What is inside the database is not important, its size already makes for an infinite output of ideas.

Luca Favaro is an Italian musician and composer. Starting as a classical percussionist, he approaches electronic music composition finding his roots in sound design, club music and field recording. With the moniker T.U. he has published with False Industries (Berlin), Hide Productions (Milan, Udine) and World Canvas (Helsinki) as well as scoring music for installations, theatre and ballet. He currently hosts Desktop Music, a monthly show on radio Raheem where he explores sound design and generative music through original compositions. With the dance-focused project Capiuz, Favaro investigates a more rhythmic approach to his compositions, exploring the more experimental and hypnotic sides of dance music. As a programmer, he has created various Max for Live devices published by Hide Productions in an ongoing series.

Cicada is a time manipulation effect that warps and smears audio in real time. The device is divided into two independent sections: SCRMBL creates a cloud like texture by running the incoming sound through a cascade of modulating delays, with the possibility of adding extra pitch shifted layers. WARP imitates the warp feature on Ableton’s clips, with a grain/speed control and the possibility of having it synced and retriggered according to live’s tempo.

Geographically separated only by a relatively narrow stretch of ocean, China and Japan have strongly interacted in art, religion and more fields in the past thousand years. Out of Fashion Boys debut EP HAM includes 3 tracks, made by Tokyo based producer Wrack who has toured and visited China many times. Wrack is like a Kentoshi (ambassadors dispatched to Tang) with a long voyage, using his EP HAM to boost communication and unity among different nationalities.
