Atomes Music is thrilled to present the new compilation Fingerprints of the Ancient, compiled by Kitsune, our very active Japanese DJ and producer living in Australia.
Fingerprints of the Ancient brings together artists from all over the world, including fellow travelers who have already signed EPs or tracks with Atomes, such as Ipotocaticac, Pluriverso, Depuratus, Le Malinard, Kitsune, and Kek Heh. We're delighted to be releasing tracks for the first time from Sensient Number Six, UgA-BooGa, Circus Freq, The Force Is Here, Vox Fabri, Yoshua E.m and Paranoiac. With this compilation, Kitsune gives us a glimpse into his musical universe, and takes Atomes Music down the darkest, most experimental paths of Darkpsy that the label has never trod.

Ancient fingerprints exude a visceral power that is able to connect us from a human level and to any beings far beyond any time or place. Today, fingerprints from the ancient world survive as forms of arts, music, spiritualities, cultures, plant medicines, and science. Ancient ancestors have lived life, learning from it, and preserving its lessons in various art forms such as painting, writing and even vocally through singing. These remnants of their memories are just as relevant today and provide us with clarity and the very depth of our existence. Our growth happens through the momentary discomfort of humbling ourselves and learning from another. So take a deep breath and channel their wisdom to introspectively seek a deeper answer to your doubts and questions and challenge you to move towards the good life.

About this album

Inori (prayer) plays a vital role in Japanese culture, deeply rooted in the ancient practices of Shinto, Japan’s indigenous faith. Shinto emphasizes harmony with nature, reverence for kami (deities or spirits), and gratitude for life’s blessings. Prayer acts as a bridge between humans and the kami, fostering a spiritual connection through which individuals express respect, gratitude, and requests for protection or guidance.

This EP fuses deep, hypnotic beats with the sacred traditions of Japanese spirituality. Inspired by the Shinto concept of inori—prayer as a connection between humans and the divine—this album serves as a ritualistic offering of peace, love, and hope for a harmonious world.

Here is an extract from my live set's introduction at Naturaiz Festival (Memento Mori edition).
This song is from my solo side project called "Zatira", track name "Skuggadans" 110 BPM.
I recorded and processed the speaking the night before taking off to Sao Paulo. 
The goal?
Including this song with meaningful speech to introduce the set in a protective and ritualistic way.
