Śāntideva’s Bodhicaryāvatāra is probably one of the most intensive, beautiful and systematic mind trainings that one can encounter. This is not just a simple message to overcome gross emotions, discursive thoughts and agitation. The text really offers us a much more profound view into the essence of the mind, why it needs to be trained, how it can be trained and ultimately, why it does not need to be trained. The way of the bodhisattva has the connotation of a warrior, whose aim is to fight the battle of ignorance, not only for oneself but for all beings who are bound by emotions, defilements and ignorance. The quintessence of the bodhisattva path is not to be in samsara but also not to aspire to nirvana. Śāntideva teaches systematically that this is achievable. We will have to understand the relationship between relative truth and ultimate truth. Immediately it sounds as if there are two truths that need to be in relationship with one another, but this is not the case. All the bodhisattva skilful means such as generosity, discipline, patience and diligence are taught by the Buddha as a way to invoke and actualise wisdom. If the wisdom is lost, all the skilful means and even the act of one-pointedness or samādhi concentration is like the blind leading the blind in a desert.

寂天菩薩的《入菩薩行論》可能是一個人能值遇的最深入、最美好、最系統的修心訓練之一。它不僅僅是一個簡單的訊息用來對治粗重的煩惱、散漫的念頭和焦慮不安，這部教文還給了我們有關心之本質的更加深刻的教授：為何心需要被訓練，它會如何被訓練，而究竟而言，為何它並不需要被訓練。菩薩道具有戰士的內涵，其目的是與無明戰鬥，不僅為自己，也為一切受煩惱、染污和無明束縛的眾生。菩薩道的精髓是不住輪迴，亦不希求涅槃。寂天菩薩系統地教導我們這是可以實現的。我們需要理解世俗諦和勝義諦之間的關係。乍聽起來好像是有兩個真理需要把它們聯繫在一起。但事實並非如此，所有菩薩的善巧方便，如佈施、持戒、忍辱和精進，都是佛陀教導的作為一種喚醒和證悟智慧的方法。如果失去智慧，所有的善巧方便，甚至是專止的行為或三摩地禪修，都好像是盲人在沙漠中引導盲人而已。

CV Ngakma Yumma Mudra

Daughter of Hungarian sculptor Laszlo Szabo and a dancer since the age of three, Yumma Mudra joined the Russian ballet Irina Grjebina at the age of twelve. After intense media exposure in 1981 with the "Myriam" campaign, she gave up her career as an artist and model to devote herself fully to the study of Tibetan Buddhism in the Nyingma and Khagyu lineages under the guidance of her principal masters: Chogyam Trungpa RInpoche, Dilgo Khyentse RInpoche, Khenpo Tsultrim RInpoche & Ringu Tulku Rinpoche.

 After 4 years of solitary spiritual retreats punctuated by extensive travel, she began her journey in Chogyam Trungpa's centers to deepen her understanding of the 5 Wisdoms and the principles of contemplative psychology founded by Edward Podvoll. In 2004, she founded the nomadic school Danza Duende Network, a deep alchemical training through Dance.

Her commitment to living Art as a way of life came to fruition when she met Michel Raji, the Choresopher, for an "inner experience of gesture through the activation of Breath".

The author of two books - her autobiography, La voie qui danse, and a novel, L'île de Bee ou La béance des sens - Ngakma Yumma Mudra is currently training at home in the Mahayoga Tantras of Niguma and Naropa, under the guidance of Lama Glenn Mullin.
