With a storied history in DJing and producing, starting in Rio de Janeiro as a D’n’B selector before settling into London’s technosphere, the Brazilian producer pens dark and dubby textures. 

Delivering releases on his label, Liberta Records as well as the likes of Figure, Blueprint, Modularz, Mord and Token, Vinicius productions display his penchant for trippy and foreboding techno whilst encapsulating the energy and passion that have come to be synonyms with his style.  

From Berlin’s Wilde Renate to London’s Fold, playing DJ gigs all around the globe, Vini’s music receives ongoing support from Ben Klock, Rødhåd, Ben Sims, DVS1, Kr!z, Truncate, and James Ruskin to name a few.

PARADOX PODCAST #185 -- VINICIUS HONORIO

Experienced for his age already, Initial Code’s DJ sets and live performances have seen him play the most reputed clubs and events in his country as well as debuting in Paris and Berlin both under his own direction and as invitee. This is the fruit of heavy activity in his scene since his beginnings as his love for music has been expressed from almost all possible angles.

Behind the decks and in the studio, Initial Code’s sound retains the depth of tunneling, mental techno expressing pace and effect. Contemporary in style, his early influences lie in more hypnotic, psychedelic techno; an important reference that can still be heard in his work today. Quickly becoming an audio engineer at the legendary Fuse club in 2019, running his own brand InDepth for multimedia music journalism and event promotion, and developing himself continuously in his own sound - Initial Code proves his love and involvement for music through attention to detail and quality through multiple disciplines. An increasing number of gigs in various hotspots and a debut EP on the way make him increasingly hard to miss in a busy scene.

"You can get deeply lost in the darkness if you let yourself merge with it and not fight it.” With this statement, Denise Rabe vividly encapsulates her musical philosophy. As this episode of DYSTOPIA exhibits, her sound is less a musical form than a collection of sounds generating a tense, haunting atmosphere. Rabe's methods and ideas show with total clarity how darkness, what our society incorrectly perceives as negative, is in fact an opening onto a radically liberated world of abstract forces. In this episode I seek to define the meaning of darkness in techno and Denise also shares her thoughts with us about Berghain, the role of gender within the techno scene, how her personal philosophy is expressed through her music, as well as the fortuitous synergy between her name and the spirit of her music. Pate Jaar, hailing from Tbilisi, founded DifferentSound in 2017, shaping a musical journey of his own. It sounds like Pate Jaar is a prominent figure in the electronic music scene, particularly in techno. He's not only known as a DJ but also as the founder of DifferentSound Records and Concrete Tbilisi label. “Maniatado” is a two-song EP where I try to show a little more of myself. My musical tastes are captured using the best techniques I've learned so far. There's feeling in every sound and care in every beat.

It's not professional at all, although the effort I've put into it and the time I've invested in it is worthy of a music master...🙄🙄

All joking aside, I'm very happy with the tracks I'm releasing. I think it's a world I'm passionate about, where I can experiment and be myself, creating new things that people might even like.

I invest a lot of time in it, and I LOVE it. I could spend hours and hours in front of a DAW making music all my life; it's a place where I feel very comfortable.

That said, as always, I want to thank everyone who supports me and puts up with me all the time, who deigns to listen to my music and appreciate it. My people always encourage me to keep making and releasing tracks, and I think that's the most important thing I have. THANK YOU TODAY AND ALWAYS❤️❤️
