Can't Live In The Too Pure Water

"SID 6581" is a concept album by Siderunda that draws deep inspiration from the golden age of video game soundtracks and retro electronic genres like synthwave and retrowave. With a vibrant neon aesthetic, it transports listeners back to the 80s arcade scene, infusing its melodies with the feel of classic chiptune and the warm analog tones of the legendary Commodore 64 SID 6581 sound chip.

This album merges the synth-heavy, driving beats of outrun music with the complexity of J.S. Bach's compositions. Siderunda uses this classical influence to add depth, weaving baroque-inspired counterpoints into energetic pop arrangements. The result is a uniquely textured sound that feels both nostalgic and fresh: shimmering synths, pulsating basslines, and a touch of elegance that hints at Bach’s structural sophistication.

Each track balances catchy 80s-style pop hooks with a layered retro-futuristic ambiance. Siderunda’s vocals blend with lush synths, creating a soundscape that’s both cinematic and evocative, making “SID 6581” a perfect homage to a bygone era, with a contemporary twist that celebrates the roots of electronic music.

Another one done from the album Wou-Wou & the Wormling, Bitzone, Stricknice, and I have been working on for almost 5 years now! You can definitely hear some of those 2020 themes in these songs. I feel like the world is starting to change and new themes will start emerging, so we had better finish up soon, lol. There are definitely two more songs from the set still to be released, and maybe a bonus track, and then we will be done…It has been a dream to work with these guys! I wonder what's next?
