Castle From Indistinct Dreams - How Overwhelming Love Was

Hallo happy January and welcome back to our first edition in 2024.

We are sinking deep into the white carpet of snow these days here in the northern hemisphere. A perfect time to gather together around a little fire, warm up and listen to some amazing Techno productions. 

Our next guest Murianoise, coming from warmer climes in Catalonia has attracted our attention with his lovely mix "La Technocràcia X" (link downwards) 
In our Series he is presenting a wonderful homage to the well known Record Label SEMANTICA, started in 2006 from Enrique Mena. 
Last FM has described Enrique, also known as Svreca in 2006 as one of Madrid most coolest upcoming DJ, who combines the coolest and most sophisticated electronica with the most abstract and complex Techno, and sometimes his experimentation leads him towards the most unusual textures and rhythms for the dance floor.

Before we start, lets hear a few words from Murianoise 

" This mix is a tribute to the Spanish Techno label SEMANTICA. Since I introduced myself into the realms of DJing back in 2017 and began buying & collecting music for my 
mixes, SEMANTICA has been the label that I always go to, not only because of the music genres that they mostly release (hypnotic, IDM, atmospheric, deep & dark techno) 
which I really love! But also because of the way the tracks are produced, with an exquisite sound design and a very good taste, in my humble opinion.
In 2019, I had the privilege to see Svreca, SEMANTICA’s boss, playing at Paral.lel Festival, an intimate deep Techno festival that takes place in the mountains of Catalonia, my home region. In his 4 hour set Svreca was delivering lots of releases of his label that I 
recognized and danced as it were the end of the world. That night was a very special. One and I will always remember it.
The first EP I bought on SEMANTICA was “Helmet of Bones” by one of my favorite Techno artists: Evigt Mörker. 
This EP, that captivated me immediately, was in fact the 
key that made me open the door of the beautiful genre of ambient/IDM/hypnotic/dark Techno. 
“Magdalene Spell” is the first track of “Helmet of Bones EP” and the last track of this mix, that I hope you enjoy! "

Big thanks for the very well selected homage to Murianoise and the deepest honor to Enrique, SEMANTICA and all the contributors and artist for 18 years of timeless productions we all very much enjoy at home ore on dance floors.

Andy Vaz, hailing from Düsseldorf, Germany, is a musician and label manager known for his long career in the electronic music world. Starting as being the curator of “Background Recordings”, a prominent minimal techno label since 1997. The label has played a significant role in presenting and educating the world about minimal electronic music, featuring influential artists like Baby Ford, Jan Jelinek, Todd Sines, Terrence Dixon, to mention a few. Vaz also founded "A Touch of Class" to bridge global deep house and minimal techno and ”YORE”, focusing on old-school Detroit & Chicago House featuring original artists such as Rick Wade, Chez Damier and Alton Miller.

Andy started to release his own material in 2000 with the Sound Variation series, a set of 10 conceptual releases focusing on re-use and recycling of instrumentations within boundless compositional approaches. In 2011, his album "Straight Vacationing" gained critical acclaim, contributing to his success worldwide.

As a performer, Andy Vaz has been in various venues worldwide, including the legendary "Liquid Room" in Tokyo and the Mutek Festival in Mexico.

Comenzamos febrero con una colección de canciones de gran belleza dispuestas a tocar las fibras más sensibles. Se trata del misterioso proyecto de un misterioso artista procedente de una misteriosa ciudad al sur de Madrid que no ha querido revelar su nombre pero llamaremos Carlawer así a bote pronto. Ejem… cuando se trata de escribir sobre el trabajo de uno mismo es más difícil que sobre el resto, así que como no tenemos pasta para pagar a otro editor voy a hacer un intento: simple y llanamente canciones que me emocionan, agitan y mueven la patata. Me la puse ayer en el coche y en alguna parte eché de menos el paquete de Renova. Un proyecto que quería subir a Youtube pero por temas de copyright no pudo ser, así que se encontraba guardado en un cajón digital. El título guarda relación con la inquietud artística que tenían los egipcios a la hora de embalsamar los cuerpos para que éstos quedaran lo más intactos posibles con el paso de los años. El ser humano y su ansia de la eternidad desde que es consciente de que su paso por el universo es efímero. Dejar el recipiente en las mejores condiciones posibles por si algún día el alma regresa al cuerpo. Muy humano todo. Como la música, que con su capacidad de desatar las emociones más primitivas, también busca ese huequito en lo eterno planteando la cuestión sobre nuestra propia existencia y nuestras cosas; las cosas que nos definen como humanos, con nuestras fortalezas y flaquezas, alegrías y penas. Espero que os guste este puñado de canciones al desnudo, sin pitch ni mezclas. Canciones porque sí.
