Wow nice version, I still dont know how he crammed the samples into the game at 64K

This is my remix of the Rob Hubbard C64 SID classic Skate or Die.
I produced this in Ableton Live using a collection of various VST, I loved the original SID with the sampled guitars and synth which was amazing to hear back in the 80's on the C64.
In this remix I funked up the bassline in the main sections which then blends back to the original bassline in other sections as you will hear, plus I added a new section towards the end as the original SID loops and I wanted to have this live sound to the track overall, and the tracks needs to end at somepoint, lol.
I also sent it directly to Rob and it passed the Master without much telling off.. he liked it which was a relief.. lol

Created this for a segment on our BBKB radio show, it's a mashup of the original fantastic 2nd part of Laxity's "Desert Dream", the Amiga demoscene legend, and Fanta's amazing C64 homage to it.

I literally just synced them up and layered them together, with the emphasis a little more to the C64 side :)

This is the final version of my very first song for the British computer SAM Coupe ("Spectrum Advanced Machine").

The song has been made for its Philips SAA soundchip (6 channels). It took the 2nd place on the AAA-Compo 2013 on-line party.

Software: E-Tracker.

Works also on ZX Spectrum with ZXM-SoundCard.

Love 8bit chipsounds and especially sounds of the SID chip..
