"I arrived in Mexico city and was whisked off to a concert at El Colegio Nacional. It was the spanish quartet of 4 saxophones Sigma Project playing the world premiere of Alberto Posadas’s new three piece cycle 'Poética del Laberinto'. This was wonderful opportunity to catch up, with the magnificently accurate, inventive and awe inspiring performance by the spaniards. I thought this sort of precision could come only from a quartet of strings".

SIGMA PROJECT www.sigmaproject.es is the New Saxophone in Europe, is more than a saxophone quartet. It is the realization of a wish came true, an essential vehicle for instrumental music in the 21st century. Just as the string quartet was the instrument par excellence for art music in past centuries, SIGMA Project claims this role in the 21st century for the saxophone quartet.
During its already long career, SIGMA Project has performed more than 150 concerts across half the world – not only in auditoriums in the United States, Argentina (Teatro Colón), Mexico (Palacio de Bellas Artes), Chile, Germany, Scotland, France, Italy, Poland and Romania but also in festivals such as the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, the Hannöversche Gessellschaf für Neue Musik, the Gare du Nord in Basel, the ENSEMS in Valencia, the Donostia-San Sebastían Musical Fortnight, the Música(s) Contemporánea(s) in the Teatro Central of Seville, the Temporadas of the CNDM, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Operadhoy-Musicadhoy in Madrid, among others.
SIGMA Project has its own record label, Sigmarecords, and has edited the CD Utopías: New Music for Saxophone Quartet and the DVD The Music for saxophone by Félix Ibarrondo. Additionally, they have recorded for WERGO (Alberto Posadas's 'Poetics of the Labyrinth' cycle), he BBVA Foundation (José Manuel López López and Gerardo Gombau monographs), Orpheus Classical (María Eugenia Luc monograph), Casa Velázquez-Académie de France in Madrid (Víctor Ibarra monograph) and, invited by the German Foundation Ernst Von Siemens Musikstiftung and with the label Col Legno, the Simone Movio monograph.
SIGMA Project’s work is supported by the Instituto Nacional de las Artes Escénicas y de la Música, the Etxepare Basque Institute of the Basque Government and the German Foundation Ernst Von Siemens Musikstiftung.

Jeanne Artemis [ʒan ɑrteːmɪs] is a composer based in Berlin, Germany.
The purpose of her work is to create solace and compassion for the invisible suffering of the many and the few. The results are individual aural bodies that seek connection with those who experience darkness.
The origins for her musical mind were found by her at an early age in the european modernism, the achievements of cultures outside of europe and the innovative forms of the underground music scenes.
She has received scholarships from the Goethe Institute, the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe, Musikfonds e.V., Neustart Kultur and Deutscher Musikrat among others. A portrait was published in the "Neue Zeitschrift für Musik" (issue #2_2021).
Her music is performed around the world, in e.g. Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Sweden, United Kingdom and USA.

Stijn Govaere (s-g) is a Belgian composer based in Barcelona, Spain. He studied harmony, counterpoint, analysis, orchestration and composition in the class of Roland Coryn and Acousmatic Music Composition and Spatialised performance at Musiques & Recherches with Annette vande Gorne. Additional studies (seminars, master classes, etc..) on sound synthesis and algorithmic composition with Alberto de Campo, Fredrik Olofsson, Sergio Luque, Dan Stowell, Nick Collins, José Manuel Berenguer and Ake Parmerud.
His compositional output ranges from electroacoustic work to music for instruments with or without live electronics.
His music has been performed across Europe and North America at venues and festivals such as: The New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, The San Francisco Tape Music Festival, Festival of Contemporary Experimental Music and Sound Art “Audiograft” (Oxford, UK), Électrobelge (Brussels), Festival Acousmatique International “L’Espace du Son” (Brussels), Académie Royale des sciences, des lettres & des beaux-arts de Belgique (Brussels), Festival Mixtur (Barcelona), Phonos Foundation (Barcelona), Hangar.org (Barcelona), La Orquesta del Caos (Barcelona), Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), Festival AETYB Barcelona (Spanish Tub and Euphonium Association), Hungarian Culture Centre, 40th International Computer Music Conference (Athens, Greece), Festival LEMATS (Sevilla), INTERNATIONAL CONFEDERATION OF ELECTROACOUSTIC MUSIC – CIME / ICEM Festival and Conference, University of North Texas, Denton Texas.
