Another labour of love for your listening enjoyment. We were delighted to see this song up on Beatport Play, as we had been planning to make a cheeky re-edit of it but didn't get round to it. We ended up only using the vocal stem and a small part of the guitar stem which we stretched out into a pad sound. We think the song lends itself well to the warm house vibes. Just wanted to take it in a slightly different direction but still respect the original.

Thought I'd try out Limmy's idea. Despite the large difference in tempo and lack of a clean acappella, it kinda works! It's a bit rough but it took 30 minutes, including finding the instrumental and acappella.



Beat It Off

I've entered quite a few remix competitions over the years as I often find them quite conducive for creativity and inspiration, and I've had the chance to play around with some classics, some of my favourite tracks, and some producers I really admire. However, a while back I decided instead to try and concentrate more on finishing some original material. 

But I couldn't resist having a go at this one, because it's an old favourite. In fact I actually tried making a bootleg of it many years ago, but didn't get round to finishing it. So it was nice to be able to revisit it with some fresh ideas, and I actually killed two birds with one stone as I ended up using parts from an unfinished original track that I just couldn't find the right ingredients to finish off.

My main aim was to do justice to the late Diane Charlemagne's soulful vocals, and I hope I succeeded.  It looks like Beatport are shutting down their "Play" site as part of their restructuring and the audio is no longer available, so I'm uploading it here.
