DJ Basel is born in Aarau, Switserland. As a child he got infected with the music-virus, by taping radio-shows in the 80's.

His father used to make him mix-tapes, these would be a fundamental element later on, for the love of music.

When he was 16 he got his first set of turntables, since then, he basicly never quit scratching, mixing and collecting. Even though the hiphop-area was a big part of his interest, a lot of other styles where, and still are involving. Going from Jazz to Funk, Roots to world and beyond.
