During the summer of 1987, I spent a week chasing after Class 50s, known by many enthusiasts as 'Hoovers', in the south-west of England. I made a number of tape recordings at the time, mostly from the front window, with my trusty ghetto-blaster in hand - and now these recordings can finally be heard :)
In this track, we first hear 50043 'Eagle' on the Night Riviera sleeper train departing Bristol Temple Meads. This was my train down from London Paddington to Devon & Cornwall. The track is followed by the first of a couple of recordings behind 50018 'Resolution' on 2C66 Exeter-Penzance, this first one departing Newton Abbot.
