Martin Praetorius - It's OK, I'm still laughing!

Martin Praetorius, the Essen, Germany born singer-songwriter, has long been at home on the stages of the world and has toured in Scandinavia, Ireland, England and Scotland and all over Europe. He played at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at "The Stone Pony" and the "Wonder Bar" in Asbury Park, New Jersey, the legendary stomping grounds of no other than Bruce Springsteen.

Living on the road and touring constantly without a permanent base, the pandemic has stopped him in his tracks.
Stranded on the shores of the Baltic Sea in the North of Germany, he recorded a couple of tracks with Transatlantic Trails, his songwriting partnership with Jen Hajj from Idylwild, California.

Eoin O'Neill and Fiachna O'Braonain started playing him on Irish radio. He has been a regular since on Late Date on RTE Radio 1, and on "The West Wind" on Clare FM, both with the duo and his solo works and is being picked up by more stations in Ireland and the UK.

His music couches somewhere in the twilight zone between Roots-Rock, Folk, Americana and Celtic influences. Although inspired by many of the great songwriters, often sharing the stage with well-known calibres of the international songwriting scene, Martin Praetorius presents his own style and sings short stories that aim point-blank, straight at the heart.

He has released two albums under his name, "Affairs of the heart" and the current, "Tales from the feverworld" on the German POTTpeople label. 

The new album, "It's Ok, I'm still laughing!" is scheduled for release on November 5th, 2021.

This EP is the story about how The Shadow Of managed to rise from the ashes and come face to face with his inner demons.

For 18 years, The Shadow Of was in and out of a massive drug and alcohol abuse. 
He was skin and bones and only lived for the next fix...alcohol...drugs...anything. 
He was a ghost with no sign of hope to be found anywhere. 
In 2012, he received help and checked into rehab to become clean and sober. 
But like many others who abuse substances, he didn't realize he needed to let go of the control. 
This oversight cost him a couple of relapses before he understood that he needed to let go of the control and let his will proceed with something much bigger than just himself. 

Miraculously, he was able to rid himself of his demons by quitting both drugs and alcohol. 
The one thing that always followed The Shadow Of during his dark times was his love for music. 
For a brief period of time, he did not write or play...but after he got clean and sober, he utilized these dark times to write beautiful and powerful stories. 
He believes that it was that fight with the demons that forced him to confront the darkness and through the music...he found the light
