Avenue Red's BIG 200 10x mix compendium takes further form with the addition of another set of sonic shapes and moods from the Manchester-based deepness merchants, Quadrant Soundscape AKA Tommy "Asphalt Layer" Harrison & Wilson Logan. These are also the guys who are behind the excellent mix show, Dub Explorations, whose events at Eastern Bloc Records have been involving Avenue Red's own Alec Pritchard on the regular lineups during the last 18 months. This is the duo's second contribution to the podcast with yet another stunning gourmet of tripped-out, dubbed-out weapons.

Seabra Monkey:
My love for music is divers. From Classical all the way to rock ‘n roll. I am originally a drummer and switched to producing when the DAWs came largely available. When House music emerged it was love at first sight and ever since has been a big influence in my musical aspirations. My love for Dub dates back to the time I was heavily into Reggae and Dub Reggae. The legendary rhythm section Robbie Shakespeare and Sly Dunbar taught me the way in what a solid rhythm section does for any kind of music in general. Its creates freedom for all other instruments involved. This freedom became more clear when I listened to Frank Zappa. He is my inspiration, a musical genius with a free spirit in improvising. He is the reason why creating edits of the tracks I use in my mixes, became part of my normal mixing routine. For me it’s all about creating a storyline from beginning till the end. Adding my own sauce is part of that process. Although my DJing skills comes from the days I was spinning the decks with vinyl, I consider myself today a producer. I love vinyl for it superb sound, but have to admit that the digital era gave me the tools and freedom to do what I love the most and that is producing Dub Techno. I feel the DUBBISM mixtape came out well and I do hope you all will like it too. If you do, pls hit me up on my socials. Welcome to the 6th chapter of the Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. This time a Live set created by Triames.

Tracklist:

There's no tracklist, it's just a collection of patches, sounds and effects that played well together, performed and tweaked live, which is how I like to play ambient and drone sets: with no particular tracks or sections in mind, just a constant flow of sound.

Some sounds used for the first half of the set come from my collection of Buddha Machines: I like to physically place two or three them in front of some source of background noise (the ocean, air conditioner units, dripping taps, distant factories, traffic...) and record a couple of minutes of what unfolds. Then I load the results into a sampler and play with it, which creates all sorts of interesting harmonies, rhythms and textures. There's also water drops hitting the top of a coffeemaker and the wind shaking a bunch of reeds in there, see if you can spot them

We are pleased to turn things over to our Silent Season friends for Friday night’s programming. A true force in the North American electronic music community, Silent Season has become a favorite of discerning techno fans around the world with their unique brand of immersive dub techno and ambient music. Their bespoke releases strive to embody the expansive majesty of Vancouver’s temperate rain forests, featuring beautiful photography of the region’s natural environments. Silent Season mainstays Segue and Refracted will be on hand for this event, as well as their in-house visualist, Danthon. Label boss Jamie McCue will open the evening with a special extended DJ set.

[Censured Version] He smiled with a sudden vigor, eyes lit by some fierce thought. The bottle hit the wall, his hands tearing sequined and polka-dot clothes into shreds. Some clung to his sweating body, others fell like ashes on the floor. He stood beneath the chandelier, weeping in silence, a figure crumbling in its own ruin. His rage twisted into a curse, an outcry that never broke. At the window, his shadow breathed with the morning. I watched through the half-open door, small, silent, staring at the animal he believed himself to be.

Gentle textural soundscapes trace the quiet shift in season, evoking warmth, stillness, and the beauty of impermanence. A sonic reflection on the passage of time, memory, and the subtle charm of change.

Christoph Vogel (Ghostloop) about his album: “It’s a collection of nine ambient pieces — soundscapes shaped by personal moments and quiet shifts I experienced over the past year, many of them spent in nature.

I worked with field recordings I captured during that time, letting them carry traces of place and memory. While writing, I also began building my Eurorack modular system, slowly integrating its sounds into the tracks as they took shape.

'Almost Autumn' reflects a quiet cycle of the year — the slow transitions, inner stillness, and changing atmosphere that come with time passing”.

Christoph Vogel, known as Ghostloop (Germany), weaves immersive soundscapes shaped by the serene rhythms of nature. Drawing from the ambient textures of field recordings and grounding them with deep, fluid basslines, his compositions echo the quiet moods of Northern Germany and the Baltic Sea coast. Rooted in a deep sense of place, Ghostloop’s music invites listeners to pause, drift, and sink into gentle, emotive layers of sound.
