Inspired by this UK and Industrial approach to electronic music, Mike Deem explore the world and amaze with his deep, atmospheric, dark ambient and sometimes melancholic acid melody and bass lines which result in a somewhat hypnotic Techno.

In 2019, he created with Sedric his own label Aarden Records on which artists such as Adhémar, Salah, Doctrina Natura or Eyvind Blix have signed.

He is still looking to renew and likes to use new talented producers to color in his sets. In other words, you can say that Mike Deem takes you on an intriguing mystical journey and immerses you, through various routes and dark places in a in a comfy setting, to safely take you along, with an off-beat motion to your destination.

'Meet the Decline' is the third episode of downliners sekt's trilogy with Barcelonan bass music label disboot records in co-production with dsekt[dot]com.

Lurching from a subbass drenched dream, Downliners Sekt continue to surprise, confound and delight with this, the final in their trilogy of 12'' explorations into shattered electric soul music. Having turned heads with their intense, abstracted and very personal approach to bass music in previous releases, this new record surprises us once more with the duo retracting their teeth, and baring their broken hearts in these 4 soul-filled gospel hymns for a technological apocalypse. Mutated guitars wind their way around hypnotic digital syncopations and ghostly choral textures, uplifting and menacing in equal parts.

This is the third and final installment of a trilogy started exactly 12 months ago with the release of the surprising 'Hello lonely, hold the nation' EP which was followed 5 months later by a clear statement: 'We make hits, not the public'. Their new sound has seen rapturous critical reception, their audience growing leaps and bounds with the ongoing trilogy campaign, which, since the beginning, has received wide spread support. All sounds came out of my traveling. This is short stories or moments and episodes of my life that became memories. Usually I take my recorder with me when traveling. The sounds (voices, sounds of nature, streets, music instruments, etc.) I bring after that are like photos from my camera. Even better! They are more 'alive'. The sounds that I used for the tracks came from India. You can see it from titles. All what I did with the sounds is added some instruments and melodies to put some emotions.

~ About The Story ~

The title of this mix represents my long-standing interest in science that has to do with cosmos and our Universe, namely astrophysics. You might also notice it in my stage name. Apobothra in astronomical terms is the point of the greatest distance between a black hole and its orbiting object. This interest has started with the first book which I read on this topic. The book is very famous not only among scientists because it describes some very fundamental concepts of this area in a very clear and comprehensible way. The book is “A Brief History of Time” by Stephen Hawking. Since then, this has become my time-proof hobby along with the electronic music. I hope you will enjoy this mix as much as I did working on it. Thank you.

Nature Tales Mix #8: Respira - Complex Singularity

Conceived and composed in two days, 'Silent Planet' is Brendan's first attempt at a fully continuous piece of music. Normally, albums under his Merrin Karras guise take many months, if not years, to put together:

"I wanted to challenge myself to create a mini-album in a short amount of time, not to think too much about it, but just to let it flow and see what happened. Everything was created in one project, but it's comprised of six distinct sections. Several motifs and elements are re-used at various points throughout the work. It's also the first time that I've used percussion elements in a Merrin Karras work".

The mood spans from brooding to almost Balearic at points, with strong elements of Berlin School and Space Music, classic Trance, and Ambient all intertwined.
