Today we are have the special opportunity to share with everyone what is in my opinion the peak Communion Sundays moment of all time. Sunday July 15th 2015 we were privileged  enough to host Sebastian Mullaert, many of you know him from his projects Minilogue, as well as Son Kite, and more recently Circle of Live. 
For me this is exactly the music when I think of a perfect sound to describe Communion, deep, psychedelic, and driving. 

Recently Dave Eckblad mentioned that he had found the recording of this set, and so I decided to approach Sebastian about releasing it to the rest of you. Just so happens that set was not only a special moment to so many of us, it also happens to be a very fond memory of Sebastian’s as well.

We are releasing this exclusive live recording in conjunction with Sebastian’s new online mentoring program for musicians. 

'In Bloom is the educational branch of Circle Of Live, a project curated by Sebastian Mullaert, started in the summer of 2020. Launching with Sebastian’s first 10-week online mentorship programme, which sold out in two weeks, the platform now further hosts full courses and one-on-one sessions with some of the longest-standing live acts in electronic music - Frank Wiedemann, Erika and Steevio. 


Whether you want to be more creative in the studio, build your own live show, explore improvisation on modular synthesisers or develop any other facet of your artistic expression, In Bloom aims to offer a wide range of opportunities for creators of different backgrounds.


In the aim to create a diverse and representative community, scholarships are available to create space for participation in the different courses offered by all the teachers. You can read about ongoing applications on the website’

Die Lebenszeichen von Aequalis waren über die Jahre in unbestimmten Abständen zu vernehmen. Die Eröffnung des IfZ lässt mit dem Hintergrund der Verstrickungen des Clubs und der Veranstaltungsreihe hoffen, dass die Lebenszeichen in Zukunft in gesunder Regelmässigkeit geliefert werden. So mag es auch nicht überraschen, das der nächste Podcast von Leipzigs finest fr. Jpla kommt. Sie kann als Gast in ihrer herrlichen Unernsthaftigkeit jede Party und das was danach kommt bereichern, wie hinter den Plattentellern. Jpla hat sich mit vollem Ernst dem Vinyl djing verschrieben. Musikalisch bewegt sie sich ständig zwischen den vielen unterschiedlichen Spielarten des Techno, ohne sich zwingend festzulegen. Angefangen mit einem der wohl schönsten Ambient Tracks der letzten Zeit, liefert sie hier ein Set ab, das sich vor allem viel Zeit lässt. Beginnend von ganz weit unten bewegt sie sich, im Tempo stetig ansteigend, zwischen verschiedenen Facetten aktueller Technoproduktionen. Spätestens wenn ungefähr ab der Hälfte die erste Hi-Hat einsetzt, hat sie dich. Ganz im Ernst.

Sound, when alive, is a restless organism. And the sound that rises from Outpost's production is a pulsating life, in continuous and relentless evolution. Just the attempt of defining it results in bridling the idea of prismatic production. But inside Outpost is also the result of an immense study, and it unravels prolifically. Those are seeds whose mysterious growth cannot be told, but just enjoyed. The journey is concrete and it pulses in the nerves of who's in it. It departs from internal dimensions in the shape of a (just apparently) distant Earth; it moves between the broken rhythms of hypnotic loops bridled by distortion chains, delays and reverbs. And, finally, lands to resonate as a new, aesthetic awareness; as a new approach to the sound matter.

Berlin-based French DJ Laura BCR has been steadily making her mark in the contemporary electronic music scene in recent times, with firm feet in the scene via her various endeavours such as her now defunct, but highly revered and remembered, Bass Cadet Records shop in Berlin where she takes her name from. 

Recent times have seen BCR snap up a residency at Het Magazijn club in The Hague, Netherlands as well as further bookings across the globe at hotspots in the Far East  as well as appearances at many other leading nightclubs such as Tresor, ://about blank, Concrete, Moog and more. Amongst this Laura’s fledgling On Board Music label, born out of her agency of the same name, has already gained recognition from many influential figures and platforms, yet another telling sign of her knowledge and ability to curate and connect the sounds that surround her.

The Argentinian artist’s first work was released in early 2019 and we’ve been pretty much in awe since then. If you haven’t already, we urge you to check out Norite, Lowless Music, Harmony Rec, Danza Nativa, Subosc to plunge yourself into his world.

An unquestionable virtuoso in the studio, he can also weave together truly original stories that alternate in tempo, genre and feeling - mesmerising to say the least!

As we listened to this gem, blending hypnotic rhythms, ambient, dub and tribal in his signature, stand-out style, we were left utterly bedazzled - the mind cleansed, the heart healed.
