"After given the opportunity to contribute music to this already quality series, the mix organically formed itself in a short amount of time. In a time and world where so many things are screaming for attention, I chose a reserved and modest atmosphere. Expect no crazy things and sudden shifts, although I (also) really hunger for those moments again on a dance floor. This just turned out as a pleasant flow of old and new tracks that I value a lot. Navigare 008 - Vinsen

Trentemøller started music in the late 1990s with different indie rock projects. In 2006, Trentemøller released his debut album The Last Resort. Trentemøller's later music has been described as synthwave and pop. His early tracks (especially The Last Resort) show influences drawing from early downtempo and trip hop, minimal, glitch, and darkwave with an often cinematic feel. He cited amongst his influences Siouxsie and the Banshees, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Joy Division, and Depeche Mode. His music has also been used by film directors, including Oliver Stone (Savages), Pedro Almodóvar (The Skin I Live In), and Jacques Audiard (Rust and Bone).

of flames that burn in towers.
there are cabins and woodlands,
and pastel and faded flowers.

there is a strange maniac,
that sits on a bucket by the trees.
he sings songs between puffs of smokes,
about horror stories, fates and dreams.

I listen to the chilling crackle,
that lights my eyes in mini-fires.
and hum to the beat of the ukulele,
on the grass path with tracks of tires.

whistle of the ancient winds,
that tell stories of bears and poisonous pears.
the campfire singes down; cool and crisp,
and the maniac disappears.

Ishq have been making music since about 1995 and his music skirts between IDM electronica, deep ambience and experimental electronics. Ishq means "love" in Persian and Hindi, it is also a word used by such past masters as Rumi to express love of the divine and the ecstatic love of the Sufi or lover of God. In these stressful, uncertain times, making such a mix is my way to cope with stress and handle mindfulness. SkySpaces - An ISHQ Mix Tribute

@segueambient is the name used by Jordan Sauer, an electronic music producer from Vancouver, BC. He creates ambient and dub-techno music with layers of field recordings, acoustic and electronic sounds, creating sonic soundscapes that conjure images of nature and emotions of peace and introspection. He has released numerous solo albums and collaborations with artists from around the world, including three LPs on the Silent Season record label. A high point of his career was the 2013 release of the dub-techno album Pacifica and the following performance at Mutek the following year, captured here in this live recording. In 2020, Jordan was commissioned by Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre to produce Gene Machines - an album based on field recordings and atmospheric sounds from one of the most advanced genetic research labs in Canada.

Presented as part of STREAM ON, a project by MUTEK, with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts.
