Back In The Day

Orbit Farm is a recording project created by composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer David Jeffrey, incorporating elements of jazz harmony, both modal and otherwise, compositional techniques of progressive rock and metal, classic analog recordings, folk songwriting, sampling, modular synthesis, and electronic production at large. Orbit Farm is founded on creating music that does not necessarily conform to any genre or preconception, while still being rooted in and respecting styles of all kinds. The project is geared towards making progressive music accessible and marketable, via the melding of technical musicianship with pop and other genres with generally more appeal. It is a humble and desperate attempt to translate and execute visionary conceptions of music accompanied by psychedelic visual art and animations.

David has meticulously curated influences for the project, ranging from jazz fusion artists such as supergroup Snarky Puppy and their founder Michael League, as well as legendary bassist Jaco Pastorius, and prog metal trio Animals As Leaders, to indie and electronic influences like artists such as Mid-Air Thief, Julia Holter, and Sweet Trip, informing the textural bed for compositional ideas to develop.
