James Rod (Label Owner of Golden Soul Records) joins me (Mr Wilkinson) for my second Back 2 Back mix – and I couldn’t be more excited!

James has released records with the likes of Chris Massey, Rigopolar, Copycat, Italobruto, Tulioxi, Sommerville & Wilson, Dim Zach, Javier Busto and Alex Aguayo plus produced remixes/collaborations with Pete Herbert, Shubostar, Dombrance, Daniel Monaco, Ilya Santana, Ichisan, Rayko, Celestino, Hoochie Coochie Papa and Los Fugazzi amongst many, many more.

The first hour of this mix sees me delivering my usual combo of slowed down upbeat bangers followed by James as he transforms cosmic disco, dark disco, funk and italo, into modern grooves suitable for every dance floor.

Today we have decided to give you a recording we made during our journey through the Omega Centauri Galaxy on the way to the Milky Way. A radio broadcast from late August 1996 here on your planet reached our distant location, and through the static we heard the faint sound of something very special. We quickly hit the record button and began layering synths and drum lines over the partial vocal sample. This is the result:
