James Rod (Label Owner of Golden Soul Records) joins me (Mr Wilkinson) for my second Back 2 Back mix – and I couldn’t be more excited!

James has released records with the likes of Chris Massey, Rigopolar, Copycat, Italobruto, Tulioxi, Sommerville & Wilson, Dim Zach, Javier Busto and Alex Aguayo plus produced remixes/collaborations with Pete Herbert, Shubostar, Dombrance, Daniel Monaco, Ilya Santana, Ichisan, Rayko, Celestino, Hoochie Coochie Papa and Los Fugazzi amongst many, many more.

The first hour of this mix sees me delivering my usual combo of slowed down upbeat bangers followed by James as he transforms cosmic disco, dark disco, funk and italo, into modern grooves suitable for every dance floor.

L'Equipe du Son,  the head honcho of Silhouette Music, is back with a promising new release after a long hiatus. His previous hit, "Lesson 1", is on track to reach 10 million plays on Spotify this year. Now, he's ready to captivate audiences once again with the "Die Liebe EP", shifting from French to German — because as we all know, German is also a language of love.


The EP opens with "Ich Liebe Dich", a unique track that defies genre classification. It features low-res sampling techniques, a catchy 90s-style synthesizer bassline, and organs, all topped with high-pitched German male vocals. This pleasant little gem stands out for its originality and is sure to catch your ear.


On the B-side, "Night at the Parade" offers a contrasting experience. While more contemporary in production and sound, it maintains L'Equipe du Son's signature uniqueness. Intriguing synth lines blend with a soprano voice and whistling, creating a captivating auditory landscape.
