This week on Topshelf we're delighted to have with us Colombian Italo/Dark Disco DJ/Producer Galope Messier.

With his original discography beginning within it's last 12 months, Galope Messier's debut releases 'Onda Corrosiva', 'Lumbre Apasionada' and 'Stellar Guidance' have been a breathe of fresh air, carving there way somewhere in-between Italo and Dark Disco with a touch of Dark Wave and Acid.
We're extremely excited to see what this young artist has in store with future releases and with him already showcasing a fine ability to pull from a multitude of genres, we're sure his music will continue to deliver.

Trip into the jungle of electronic sounds with the revisiting of Agnès Aokky's queer track LES FILLES by the most versatile electro scene ever (Don Turi, Lauer, Joshua James). Acidic spoken word over a patchwork of styles - eurodance, disco, minimal techno, ghetto house - enough to "dancefloor" your summer under the sunlights of joy!

Lauer, a prolific Berlin-based producer since the 2000s, dresses up Les Filles in a soaring, sensual disco ensemble, with backing vocals blending perfectly with magnetic melodies that are sure to tug at your heartstrings.

For Love over Entropy, music is all about ideas. Experimenting with different workflows and taking influences from a wide range of artists, he eschews formulas and tries to infuse every track with a life of its own. As a result, ever since the first release in 2013, his music is primarily shaped by his own musical fascinations instead of genre conventions. Crucial to his tracks is a sense of internal logic and flow, that also extends into his live sets.

At an abstract level, Love over Entropy's music draws inspiration from the Ligne Claire aesthetic. This is a style of drawing made famous by Belgian cartoonist Hergé in the 1930s, but which goes back even further, to Japanese woodblock cuts from the 17th century. Very much like those woodblock cuts, Love over Entropy's music is precise yet organic. To the point yet rich. Abstract yet familiar.

Love Over Entropy wished to name this EP 'Pleioné'. In Greek mythology, Pleioné was an Oceanid nymph and mother of the Pleiades. Pleione presided over the multiplication of the flocks. This title thus seems utterly fitting, since the music seems to keep on coming and going, the same yet different, repeated yet with sounds adding to each other in waves. The whole gives a sense of being so subtle and deep that the mind gets to float freely in a boundless ocean of sounds.

To complete this package, we are delighted to have Philipp Priebe on board of this project to offer his own dreamy yet bouncy take on the original '5step3'.
