Paradise Collapse is a state of limbo of profound uncertainty in which beliefs and assumptions break down.

The paradisiacal bubble we once inhabited bursts, leaving us exposed to the little fundamental things we had previously ignored or taken for granted. As the certainties we were once attached to crumble around us, we can rebuild our lives on a foundation rooted in authenticity and self-awareness.
Mirroring the constant changes we face, the music evolves, taking us on an emotional journey as we navigate an ever-changing landscape.

It is important to recognise that changes is an ongoing process, not an endpoint.

"Contrasts between traditional atmospheres and sounds that evoke something more classical, with glitchy and luminous melodies that transport you to a city of the future. An amalgam with a refined, aesthetic quality that defines an influence."

Menhir is a music and art collective formed by singer Coco Moya (@mediococo) and producer Iván Cebrián, based in Spain. In between contemporary electronics, ambient, and minimalism music. Menhir creates immersive musical experiences by combining analog synthesis soundscapes, ethereal voices, and layered sound processing.

Menhir's note: 

This mix is the result of exploring some of our musical influences. It features a couple of surprises, such as a recording we made of Gregorian chant at the monastery of Silos, a renowned site for this musical form across the peninsula. It's quite fascinating and beautiful how it blends into the mix with absolutely contemporary music. In essence, we were seeking music for listening and music as a form of knowledge.

Glisten ☉ Ouroboros Festival 2024

The Circle Stage awakened on Saturday morning as Glisten opened the Circle Stage, weaving a tapestry of sound that felt both otherworldly and deeply intimate. A fusion of lush, ambient melodies and intricate, trippy drum rhythms—felt like an invocation of a day dream-state. It was as if we had been transported by a blue lotus flower to a space where time slowed, and the air shimmered with a surreal beautiful vibration. Chimeric, organic forms seemed to sprout from the music itself, growing, twisting, and blooming in rhythm, expanding not just our imagination but our hearts, through the creation of a unspoken connexion between space and people.

Thank you Sofia for opening to us this way.

There’s a deep love for music and sound here — in all its forms — that shows in the care and attention the organizers put into every detail. This creates a space where listeners are open and receptive to adventurous artists who strive (and succeed) to share moments of unity, chaos, and peace. 

For this set, I wanted it to be nuanced but not detached. It’s an emotional journey, but a subtle one — like the best poetry, it hides its meaning in oblique references and unexpected twists, yet the emotion is always there. Then the enveloping drone comes, unraveling everything that preceded it, until it all bursts open at once.”
