what a wild ride! after traveling the whole weekend to catch a show in poland, i was greeted by the beautiful seebühne floor that i had spent so many hours dancing on in the past. i felt incredibly honored to play here on sunday morning and needless to say, i was hyper nervous. partially because i've almost never done live vocals in front of an audience. you were so kind to me and i was really touched by all the smiling faces, familiar as well as new. ☺

i know the style of this set might not be for everyone that had grown on my slower stuff – that's totally okay. my old things are not going anywhere and i still have a soft spot for slower music, so don't worry. i feel a lot of positivity concerning my stylistic development lately and i'm super grateful for everyone who's been sticking along for the ride.

Here's the set we've played Saturday night at St Jean-Basstiste Eclosion 2022. I was a real pleasure to have such a joyful and busy dance floor after those 2 years of shutdown and it was an awesome festival !

"Discowriders," the very first track from VRSTL Records, a Canadian electronic music label focused on Darkdisco and indie dance, created by Maudite Machine, is an intense dive into the world of dark disco. Inspired by wild rodeos and the glamour of disco, this powerful track hits hard with deep, pounding basslines and unleashed electric guitars. The dark and energetic atmosphere transports the listener into a frenetic and hypnotic dance, perfectly balanced between shadow and light, chaos and euphoria. A true statement of intent for Maudite Machine and an explosive launch for VRSTL Records.

Discowriders

This is a song I composed and interpreted about 10 years ago when I was still performing live. The basis of this song were laid during a monthly afternoon creation meeting with the "Bretzel A" collective. The idea was to gather a bunch of film makers and artists, and have some creative and productive fun time in a few hours. I quickly found a chord progression then recorded it next the camera mic while watching footages. Later on I decided to go further and make it a song.
