💫2.5 Hours of Chill-out Liquid Drum and Bass [1/4]💫

Part one of the Gladiator series that puts producers in a musical face off. Part one see's MAAD TING boss, Conrad Subs, go up against old skool junglist and 24 Karat boss, Danny Styles. 

Conrad starts proceedings with "Next Chapter". With familiar MC vocals, heavy bass and rolling beats this one is a dancefloor killer. Danny then hits back with "Bad Mind People" and takes no prisoners with huge distorted basslines, soundclash samples and heavy beats. 

The more observant amongst you will notice that where Conrad's track has the MC samples saying "YES YES, ONE, TWO" - Danny has answered with cleverly edited samples saying "NO NO NO, THREE FOUR" in his track. 

This is jungle at it's best. Watch out for more in the Gladiator Series...

DIS:TURBED's newly-founded Identity Records imprint kicks off with a huge bang, bringing through 4 of the Drum & Bass scene's most exciting talents for a dark, subterranean debut EP. Here, we see a selection of upcoming powerhouses go to town on the much-loved minimal sound, namely Recon, Half Cab, Medusa and Hickupz, the latter of which we recently dropped a collaborative Premiere / Free Download with, check that via our 'Free Downloads' playlist. Back to this EP, and we're treated to a masterclass in devilish sonics from Recon, who's kicked up a storm on 'Dark Places'. Fabulously textured and warped, this is plucked straight out of the top-drawer from a producer who's sure to go on to do big things in the scene. Clicky, snappy percs meet sharp, robotic atmospherics in a hybrid of sounds that works perfectly - what an opener.

Festival favourite Dr Meaker links up with the inimitable Lorna King to bring you 'With Every Heartbeat'. The combination of Lorna’s silky smooth, soulful vocals and Dr Meakers bass heavy drop is a match made in heaven.

Dr Meakers last single on V ‘Right Back’ gained impressive support across clubland, hit the 1Xtra playlist, and also picked up support from Radio 1, Kiss and Kiss Fresh. This was no one off though, as over the years Dr Meaker has built up an impressive CV, gaining nods from the likes of Annie Mac, Zane Lowe, DJ Target, Mistajam, support from UKF, Mixmag, DJ Mag, DNBA and more, as well as regular bookings at festivals such as Glastonbury and Boomtown.

Liondub and Parly gathered an unprecedented and ultra-talented cast of artists and producers to craft an album that brilliantly fuses the Yorkshire based artists' unique reggae sound with powerful and modern, yet timeless Jungle Drum and Bass productions.

Danny Styles is back.. The 24 Karat label boss has been busy during lockdown and presents us with this mini album entitled "Clash Weapons", a 6 track release. Perfect for DJ's in the clash. Each one is a different style. "Dust Ah Soundbwoy" and "Champion Sound" boh feature the producer taking to the mic and showcasing his vocal styles whilst  African Donald samples President Trump and is politically relevant. Head Pressure also has Danny doing some vocals but in a totally different style. Boogaloo is a slammer and Wine Slow (with vocals by Dadda) is sure to get your head nodding. Danny's soundclash roots are evident in every track and this release is one for any DJ's arsenal.
