Se taire pour ne pas sombrer.

Un morceau contenu, presque étouffé,
où la protection ressemble déjà à un enfermement.

Refuge is not a place.

It's a reflex.

When the world becomes too noisy,

when violence is pervasive, invisible, and commonplace,
we seek shelter—however fragile, however illusory.
Refuge speaks of this inner escape.
Withdrawing without disappearing.
Being silent to avoid sinking.
Holding on, still, apart.
A contained, almost stifled fragment,
where protection already resembles confinement.
